Low wagering casino bonus

A low wagering casino bonus is one where you replay the bonus only a few times before winnings become withdrawable, and since 19 January 2026 no UK bonus may ask for more than 10x. So the useful questions now are how long you get, what you may stake and which games count. Casumo and 10bet both use 10x; PlayOJO’s spins use none. 18+, terms apply.

Key takeaways

  • Every UK bonus has been capped at 10x wagering since 19 January 2026, so “low” now means 10x or less with workable terms.
  • Casumo: 50% up to £100 on a £20+ first deposit, 10x the bonus within 7 days, max £5 per bet.
  • 10bet: 100% up to £25, 10x the bonus on slots within 3 days, bonus winnings capped at £1,000.
  • The average cost of clearing wagering is roughly the wagering total multiplied by the house edge.
  • If you want no playthrough at all, PlayOJO’s 80 spins pay winnings as cash.

What a low wagering casino bonus means in 2026

A wagering requirement is the amount you must stake before bonus money, or winnings made with it, can be withdrawn. It is written as a multiple: 10x on a £50 bonus means £500 of bets. Until January 2026, UK multiples of 35x, 40x or even 50x were common, and a “low wagering casino bonus” meant anything around 20x or below.

That yardstick no longer works. The Gambling Commission’s 10x wagering cap took effect on 19 January 2026 and applies to every licensed operator, so a bonus at 10x is now normal rather than exceptional. The words “low wagering” still mean something, but you have to look past the multiple to judge them: the time allowed, the maximum bet, the games that count and any cap on what you can win all change how hard the bonus is to clear.

Our explainer on how wagering requirements work covers the basic mechanics. This page focuses on comparing the low wagering offers that exist today and putting a pound figure on each.

You can read more about each operator on the Casumo profile, the 10bet profile and the PlayOJO profile. The Casumo and 10bet offers are exact matches for a low wagering deposit bonus; PlayOJO is a different product, included because zero wagering is the lowest possible figure.

How to work out the real cost of low wagering

Every bet you place to clear wagering carries the game’s house edge. Multiply the total you must wager by the house edge, and you have the average amount the wagering is likely to cost. That number, set against the bonus, is the cleanest way to compare offers. Our house edge explainer covers where the percentages come from.

For a slot with a 96% return to player, the house edge is 4%. So:

  • Casumo, £200 deposit: bonus £100, wagering 10 × £100 = £1,000, average cost 4% × £1,000 = £40. Expected value of the bonus roughly £100 − £40 = £60.
  • Casumo, £20 deposit: bonus £10, wagering £100, average cost £4. Expected value roughly £6.
  • 10bet, £25 deposit: bonus £25, wagering £250, average cost £10. Expected value roughly £15, before the £1,000 winnings cap (which rarely matters at this size).
  • PlayOJO: 80 × 10p = £8 of spins, no wagering cost. Expected value roughly £7.74 using Big Bass Bonanza’s published 96.71% RTP.

These are long-run averages, not predictions. In a single session you can lose the bonus long before the wagering is done, or finish well ahead. Our wagering calculator lets you change the bonus, multiple and RTP to see the numbers for any offer.

Time limits and max bets: the hidden side of low wagering

A low multiple can still be hard work if the clock is short. One useful measure is how much you must wager per day to finish in time.

Wagering pace needed to clear each bonus in time
ExampleTotal wageringDays allowedWagering per daySpins at £1 needed
Casumo, £20 deposit (£10 bonus)£1007About £14100
Casumo, £200 deposit (£100 bonus)£1,0007About £1431,000
10bet, £25 deposit (£25 bonus)£2503About £83250

UK slot rules add a floor to how long this takes. Since 31 October 2021 each slot spin must last at least 2.5 seconds and autoplay is banned, as set out in our page on the autoplay ban. At £1 a spin, £1,000 of wagering is at least 1,000 manually started spins, which is over 40 minutes of continuous play at the legal minimum pace and usually far longer in practice. Before claiming the full £100, ask yourself whether you want to play that much in a week.

Stake caps matter too. Casumo limits bets to £5 while a bonus is active, which is also the legal slot maximum for over-25s; the limit for 18–24s is £2, covered on our £2 slot stake limit page. Breaking a max bet rule can void the bonus and its winnings.

How to claim Casumo’s low wagering bonus

Casumo’s offer is a close match for a low wagering deposit bonus with room to choose the size. The published terms give this order:

  1. Register as a new Casumo customer and complete the identity checks.
  2. Opt in to the welcome bonus, which the terms say is required.
  3. Set a deposit limit when prompted; casinos must ask before your first deposit.
  4. Deposit at least £20. The bonus is 50% of the deposit up to £100, so £200 gives the maximum.
  5. Wager the bonus 10 times within 7 days, keeping each bet at £5 or less, on games the terms allow.
  6. Once wagering is complete, remaining bonus winnings convert under the terms and can be withdrawn.

Payment restrictions apply, so check which methods count before depositing. The Casumo bonus terms page and the 50% casino bonus page look at the offer in more depth.

How to claim 10bet’s 10x casino bonus

10bet’s offer suits a smaller budget and a shorter commitment:

  1. Register as a new UK customer and choose the casino welcome bonus during sign-up.
  2. Make your first deposit within 7 days of registering. A £25 deposit earns the full £25 match.
  3. Wager the bonus 10 times on slots within 3 days: £250 for a £25 bonus.
  4. Bonus winnings above £1,000 are not paid, so the cap only matters after an unusually large win.

The 100% casino bonus page compares this match with other 100% deals, and the 10bet bonus terms page sets out the clauses in order.

Low wagering vs no wagering: which bonus is better?

No wagering wins on simplicity: the result of the spins is cash, end of story. Low wagering wins on size: Casumo can add up to £100 to your balance, while the largest no wagering spin bundle we list is worth £50 in face value. Which is better depends on whether you would have played £1,000 through slots in a week anyway. If not, the larger bonus is mostly an invitation to play more than you planned.

Our full comparison of no wagering vs low wagering works through several deposit sizes, and the no wagering free spins page covers the three zero-wagering spin offers in detail.

What to check before taking any low wagering bonus UK casinos offer

A short checklist catches most problems before they cost anything:

  1. Is the multiple applied to the bonus only, or to deposit plus bonus? Both partner offers here apply it to the bonus.
  2. How many days do you have, and does that pace suit how you play?
  3. Which games count, and at what percentage? Table and live games are often excluded or weighted low; see game weighting explained.
  4. Is there a maximum bet while the bonus is active?
  5. Is there a cap on bonus winnings, like 10bet’s £1,000?
  6. Which payment methods are excluded from the offer?
  7. Is the bonus a single offer, or must you opt in separately?

Our guide to reading bonus terms explains each clause with examples. The Advertising Standards Authority’s guidance on significant conditions in promotional terms (opens in a new tab) is the rule that requires these key terms to appear in adverts, not only in small print.

Why UK low wagering bonuses look the way they do

The cap comes from the Gambling Commission’s social responsibility code on rewards and bonuses (LCCP 5.1.1) (opens in a new tab). The Commission consulted in late 2023, announced the rule on 26 March 2025 and moved the start date from 19 December 2025 to 19 January 2026. An outright ban on wagering was considered but not adopted. In announcing the change, the Commission used the example of a £10 bonus with 50x wagering, which would have needed £500 of play; under the cap the same bonus needs £100 at most.

Before and after the cap: the same £50 bonus
PeriodTypical multipleWagering on £50Average cost at 96% RTP
Before 19 January 202635x£1,750£70 (more than the bonus)
Since 19 January 202610x maximum£500£20

The same date brought the ban on mixed-product promotions, which is why 10bet asks you to choose the casino bonus at sign-up rather than tying it to a sports bet. Our page on bonuses before and after the 10x cap has more worked comparisons.

Is a low wagering casino bonus safe and worth it?

The casinos are licensed: Casumo is run by Recro Limited (UKGC account 61549) and 10bet by Blue Star Planet Limited (account 43173), which you can confirm on Recro’s public register entry (opens in a new tab). Whether a bonus is worth it is a different matter. A bonus is only good value if the play it requires is play you wanted anyway and can afford. If you notice yourself depositing again to finish wagering, that is a signal to stop. Frequently asked questions

What is a low wagering casino bonus?

It is a bonus where you need to replay only a small multiple of the bonus before withdrawing winnings. Since 19 January 2026 UK casinos cannot set wagering above 10x, so every licensed bonus is low by older standards, and the term now points to offers at 10x or below with reasonable time limits and stake rules. Casumo and 10bet both use 10x on the bonus amount. Our wagering requirement glossary entry defines the term, and how to calculate wagering shows the sums.

What is the lowest wagering requirement allowed in the UK?

There is no minimum: a casino can set any multiple from zero up to the 10x maximum. Zero wagering is common on free spins, such as PlayOJO’s 80 spins at 10p, Coral’s 100 spins and Ladbrokes’ up to 500 spins, all of which pay winnings as cash. Deposit match bonuses usually carry some wagering, and 10x is the most a UK operator may now require. The 10x cap rule page explains the legal limit, and the latest no wagering offers page tracks zero-wagering deals.

Is 10x wagering good?

By historical standards it is very good, and it is now the legal ceiling, so judge it alongside the other terms. A 10x requirement on a £25 bonus means £250 of play, which on a 96% RTP slot has an average cost of about £10, leaving positive expected value of around £15. The same 10x with a 3-day limit is harder than with a 7-day limit, and a low max bet or game restrictions can make it slower. The question page on what a fair wagering requirement is goes further, as does the bonus value calculator guide.

Does the 10x wagering apply to my deposit as well?

For the two partner bonuses on this page, the published terms apply the 10x to the bonus only. With Casumo, a £200 deposit gives a £100 bonus and £1,000 of wagering, not £3,000. With 10bet, a £25 deposit gives a £25 bonus and £250 of wagering. Some operators historically applied wagering to deposit plus bonus, which doubles the work, so always read which balance the multiple is attached to. The guide to reading bonus terms shows where that wording usually sits.

Can I play roulette or blackjack to clear a low wagering bonus?

Usually not at full value. 10bet’s offer states the bonus must be wagered on slots, so table games will not count. Casumo’s terms say game restrictions apply, so check the contribution table before playing anything other than slots. Casinos weight or exclude table games because their house edge is far lower than most slots, which would make bonuses cheap to clear. The game weighting explainer covers how contributions work, and the roulette bonus page looks at table-game offers specifically.

What happens if I don’t finish the wagering in time?

When the time limit passes, the remaining bonus and any winnings still tied to it are normally removed. For Casumo the window is 7 days and for 10bet it is 3 days. Your own deposited cash is a separate matter, and the terms set out how real money and bonus money interact. Before opting in, decide whether the pace is realistic for you rather than trying to rush at the end. Our bonus expiry guide explains what is lost and what is kept when a bonus lapses.

Why do low wagering bonuses have a max bet rule?

A max bet rule stops players clearing wagering with a few very large stakes, which would change the risk the casino priced into the offer. Casumo sets the limit at £5 per bet while a bonus is active. Breaking it can lead to the bonus and related winnings being removed, so it is one of the most important terms to note. UK slots already have a £5 legal limit for over-25s and £2 for 18–24s. The explainer on why casinos limit bets with a bonus explains the reasoning in more detail.

Is a low wagering bonus better than no wagering free spins?

It depends on what you want. A low wagering match bonus is bigger, up to £100 at Casumo, but needs play to clear and carries an average cost. No wagering spins are smaller, £8 to £50 in face value among our partners, but pay winnings as cash immediately. If you prefer short sessions and simple terms, spins suit better; if you planned to play a lot anyway, a 10x match may give more. Our free spins vs deposit bonus comparison sets out both cases.

Are low wagering bonuses only for new customers?

The two match bonuses on this page are welcome offers for new customers only. Existing customers may see reload bonuses, cashback or spins, and since 19 January 2026 any wagering on those must also be 10x or less. Since 1 May 2025 you choose which marketing you receive by product and channel, so you will only hear about those deals if you opt in. Our page on offers for existing customers tracks current promotions, and the reload bonus page explains how they typically work.

Do I need a promo code for a low wagering casino bonus?

Not for our partners. None of the five casinos we list needs a promo code for its welcome offer. Casumo asks you to opt in, 10bet asks you to choose the casino bonus during registration, and PlayOJO’s spins must be claimed through the designated offer link. If a site asks for a code you cannot find, the offer may have ended or changed. The casino bonus codes page explains when codes are used, and the guide to spotting an outdated offer covers warning signs.
