A roulette bonus is a casino promotion whose bonus funds or rewards can be used on roulette. Most UK welcome offers are built for slots, and none of our partners runs a roulette-only bonus (checked 5 October 2026). This guide shows how roulette counts towards wagering, what clearing a bonus on each wheel costs in pounds, and which bets bonus terms usually ban. 18+, terms apply.
None of our partners has a roulette-specific welcome offer as of 5 October 2026.
Roulette often counts at a reduced rate, or not at all, towards bonus wagering.
Clearing £100 of wagering on European roulette at full contribution costs about £2.70 on average; at 20% it costs about £13.50.
Covering bets such as red and black together are commonly banned while a bonus is active.
Betting systems like Martingale do not change the 2.70% edge and collide quickly with max bet rules.

What a roulette bonus is
Roulette is a game of a numbered wheel and a ball. You bet on where the ball will land, from a single number to broad groups such as red or black. Our online roulette guide explains the table and every bet. A roulette bonus is any promotion you can use on that game: a deposit match whose wagering counts on roulette, cashback on roulette losses, a prize contest on a live wheel, or a roulette-specific reward from a loyalty scheme.
Because the house edge on European roulette is lower than on most slots, casinos are careful with roulette in their terms. Some exclude it from bonus play, some count it at a fraction of its stake, and many ban particular betting patterns while a bonus is active. Reading those clauses is the difference between a bonus that helps and one that quietly costs more than it gives.
Is there a roulette bonus at our partner casinos?
Not a dedicated one. Each partner offers roulette, according to their app store listings, but the welcome offers are built for slots or for general use. This is how each one fits a roulette player.

If roulette is your main game, check the contribution table in Casumo’s bonus terms first. If roulette counts at 0%, playing with cash and skipping the opt-in is cleaner. The Coral casino page and the 10bet casino page cover those operators more broadly.
What a roulette bonus costs on each wheel
The wheel you choose sets the house edge, and the house edge sets the average cost of any wagering. These are the standard figures; the help screen on each table confirms the version in front of you.
Roulette house edge and average cost of £100 of wagering at full contribution
Contribution is the share of each roulette stake that counts towards wagering. Our game weighting explainer covers the idea for every game type. Here it is applied to one example: a £20 bonus at 10x, so £200 to wager, played on a European wheel.
100% contribution: £200 of roulette bets. Average cost £5.40. Expected value of the bonus about £14.60.
50% contribution: £400 of bets. Average cost £10.80. Expected value about £9.20.
20% contribution: £1,000 of bets. Average cost £27. Expected value about −£7: on average you lose more than the bonus.
0% contribution: roulette bets never reduce the wagering, so the bonus must be cleared on other games or left alone.
The cut-off is simple to compute. A roulette bonus only has positive average value if the contribution rate is above the house edge multiplied by the wagering multiple. At 10x and 2.70%, that is 27%. Below roughly a quarter, the bonus is worth less than nothing on average. Our wagering calculator runs the same sum for any bonus.
Roulette betting patterns bonus terms often ban
Bonus terms target bets that reduce risk without changing the edge, because those let a player move through wagering with little variance. Common examples you may meet in roulette bonus terms across the UK market include:
Covering bets: red and black at the same time, or odd and even, so that almost every spin returns most of the stake.
Large coverage: bets on a high share of the numbers in one spin, sometimes defined as 25 or more numbers.
Opposite bets across tables or across products.
Exceeding the max bet, which at Casumo is £5 per bet while a bonus is active.
Zero-edge or low-edge patterns a casino defines as irregular play in its terms.
Breaking these rules usually means the bonus and its winnings are removed. The guide to bonus abuse explained shows how casinos define it, and voided winnings explained covers what is and is not fair under UK consumer rules.
Martingale and other systems with a roulette bonus
Doubling after each loss, the Martingale system, is the system most often tried with a roulette bonus. It does not change the house edge: each spin is independent and the wheel has no memory. With a bonus it also runs into the max bet clause very quickly.

The chance of losing four even-money spins in a row on a European wheel is about 7% (18 losing pockets plus zero, out of 37, multiplied four times). That will happen several times during £200 or more of wagering, and at that point you either break the rule or accept a £7.50 loss. Our betting systems explained page covers why no system changes the long-run cost, and can you predict roulette answers the related question.
RNG roulette vs live roulette with a bonus
Many casinos treat the two differently in bonus terms, so check each. The practical differences are worth knowing as well:
RNG roulette uses a random number generator. Since 17 January 2025 UK rules require at least 5 seconds per game cycle on non-slot online casino games, and autoplay is banned, so every spin is started by you.
Live roulette is a physical wheel with a dealer, which runs at the dealer’s pace. Auto roulette uses a mechanical launcher without a dealer but is still a real wheel.
Specialist variants such as Lightning Roulette pay random multipliers but reduce straight-up payouts, so the edge differs from a standard wheel; check the help screen.
There is no legal per-spin stake limit on roulette: the £5 and £2 caps introduced in 2025 apply to online slots only. Table limits and bonus max bets are the only ceilings.
Free roulette, demo play and contests: what UK rules allow
You may see “free roulette” in two forms. The first is demo play with play money. Since May 2019, UK-licensed sites must verify your age before you can play free versions of gambling games, as covered on our free-to-play demo rules page. The second is a free-to-enter prize contest. Ladbrokes’ casino app listing mentions free-to-play live roulette and game show contests, and Coral’s listing mentions free-to-play games with real-money prizes; terms for each are set by the casino. Our free to play casino games page explains how these work.
How to check whether a roulette bonus is worth claiming
Find the game contribution table in the bonus terms and note the roulette rate, separately for RNG and live tables if listed.
Multiply the bonus by the wagering multiple to get the wagering total (for example £50 × 10 = £500).
Divide by the roulette contribution rate to get the stake you would need (£500 ÷ 0.2 = £2,500 at 20%).
Multiply that stake by the house edge of your wheel (£2,500 × 2.70% = £67.50).
Compare the result with the bonus. If the average cost is higher, skip the bonus or play slots for the wagering instead.
Note the banned bets and max bet, and decide whether you can play within them comfortably.
Casumo heads the list: 50% up to £100 on a £20+ first deposit, 10x the bonus within 7 days, £5 max bet, opt-in required; check whether roulette contributes. 10bet’s 100% up to £25 wagers 10x on slots within 3 days, so it suits a player who also plays slots. Coral’s bet £10 on slots, get 100 spins at 10p is a slots offer with no wagering on spin winnings, at a casino that also runs roulette. New customers only, 18+; terms apply to every offer. The offers hub shows every current deal.
None of these is a roulette-only bonus. Casumo’s 10x match is the closest fit if its game rules let roulette count; 10bet’s bonus wagers on slots, and Coral’s offer gives slots spins, though both casinos run roulette tables. 18+, terms apply.

Frequently asked questions
What is a roulette bonus?
It is a promotion you can use on roulette, such as a deposit match that counts roulette towards wagering, cashback on roulette losses or a free-to-enter roulette contest. In the UK most welcome offers are designed for slots, and roulette often counts at a reduced rate or not at all. Wagering has been capped at 10x since 19 January 2026. The useful test is whether the contribution rate makes the bonus worth more than the cost of the bets. The online roulette guide explains the game itself.
Can I use a casino bonus on roulette?
Only if the bonus terms allow it. 10bet’s current welcome bonus must be wagered on slots, so roulette will not count. Casumo’s terms state game restrictions apply, so look for roulette in its contribution table. Coral, Ladbrokes and PlayOJO give slots spins, which cannot be played on roulette. If roulette counts at 0%, any roulette you play with an active bonus will not reduce wagering. The game weighting explainer shows how rates are set.
What contribution does roulette usually have towards wagering?
Practice varies across UK casinos: some count roulette at 100%, many at between 10% and 50%, and some exclude it. Live and RNG roulette may have different rates. As a rule of thumb, with 10x wagering on a European wheel, a contribution below about 27% means the average cost of clearing the bonus is higher than the bonus itself. Always read the current table rather than relying on what is typical. Our page on why some games are excluded from bonuses explains the reasoning.
Why do casinos ban betting on red and black at the same time?
Because covering both outcomes almost removes the risk of each spin while still counting towards wagering. On a European wheel, a £5 bet on red and £5 on black returns £10 unless zero lands, so the player loses only about 2.7% of stake on average with little swing. Bonus terms commonly treat this as irregular play and may remove the bonus and winnings. The bonus abuse guide lists other patterns casinos restrict.
Is there a stake limit on online roulette in the UK?
There is no legal per-spin limit on roulette. The £5 cap for players aged 25 and over and the £2 cap for 18–24s apply to online slots only. Roulette tables set their own minimum and maximum bets, and a bonus may add a max bet clause, such as Casumo’s £5 per bet while a bonus is active. Because roulette has no legal ceiling, setting your own deposit limit matters. The deposit limit rules page covers what casinos must offer.
Does the Martingale system work with a roulette bonus?
No. Martingale doubles the stake after each loss but does not change the house edge, which stays at 2.70% on a European wheel. With a bonus it also hits the max bet quickly: from 50p, the fifth stake would be £8, above Casumo’s £5 limit. Four straight losses on even-money bets happen about 7% of the time, so the limit will be reached during a normal session. The betting systems explained guide covers this and other systems.
Which roulette is best for clearing a bonus?
If the bonus allows roulette, a French wheel with la partage gives the lowest edge on even-money bets, 1.35%, followed by European roulette at 2.70%. American roulette, with its double zero, costs nearly twice as much at 5.26%. However, some terms exclude even-money bets or set lower contribution for low-edge variants, so read them first. The roulette odds page lists the payout and edge for every bet.
Can I play free roulette in the UK without verifying my age?
No. Since May 2019 UK-licensed casinos must verify your age and identity before you can play free-to-play versions of gambling games, including demo roulette. Free-to-enter prize contests run by casinos also require an account. Some casino apps, including Ladbrokes’ according to its app listing, offer free-to-play live roulette contests with their own terms. The age verification rules page explains what checks casinos must run.
Is roulette cashback better than a roulette bonus?
For many roulette players it is simpler, because cashback returns a share of net losses rather than adding bonus funds that may barely count at roulette. Check whether cashback is paid as cash or as bonus money with wagering; any wagering must be 10x or less since January 2026. Cashback still depends on losing first, so it softens costs rather than creating value. None of our partners runs a roulette cashback welcome offer now. The cashback casino bonus page explains typical terms.
What is the best roulette bet to place with a bonus?
No bet beats the house edge, which is the same 2.70% for every standard bet on a European wheel. What changes is the swing: even-money bets win often but pay 1 to 1, while a straight-up number pays 35 to 1 and wins about once in 37 spins. With a bonus, even-money bets give a steadier path through wagering, but check that the terms do not exclude them. The page on the best roulette bet compares every option.
