Editorial policy

How we research, write, date, check and correct every page on Latest Casinos, and how advertising is kept separate from our editorial judgement.

Our research standards

Latest Casinos is built on one principle: everything we state should be checked, sourced and dated. This policy explains how the Latest Casinos team researches, verifies, reviews and corrects every page on the site, and what readers can expect from us.

We use primary sources wherever they exist. For casino facts, that means the casino’s own published terms, help centre and cashier information. For licences, it means the Gambling Commission’s public register. For rules, it means the Commission’s licence conditions, codes of practice and technical standards, GOV.UK and legislation.gov.uk. For games, it means the developer’s published game information. Trade news and other websites may tell us that something has changed, but we do not state a fact on the strength of a secondary source alone.

If a fact cannot be verified, we leave it out. We would rather say check the cashier or check the help centre than publish a payout time, licence number, game count or RTP we have not confirmed. We do not claim first-hand testing: our pages are researched explanations, written as such.

Pages are written in plain UK English, answer the reader’s question in the first two sentences and use worked pound examples, such as showing that a £20 bonus at 10x wagering needs £200 of eligible play. Where an honest answer depends on circumstances, we say what it depends on rather than choosing a convenient figure.

How offers, licences and rules are checked and dated

Dates are central to the site, because casino offers and UK rules change often. Each type of fact is checked in its own way, and the date of the most recent check is shown.

Licence details are confirmed on the Commission’s register of businesses (opens in a new tab), searching by company name, trading name or account number. Rules are stated with the date they came into force, not the date they were announced, and proposals that have not become rules are described as proposals. Where the regulator’s position is unclear, such as the absence of any official rule banning bonus buy features, we say so plainly instead of inventing a date.

How game figures such as RTP and house edge are verified

For slots, we take RTP, volatility and maximum win figures from the developer’s published game information and, where possible, confirm them in the game’s own help screen. For table games, we use standard house edge figures derived from each game’s rules, such as 2.70% for single-zero European roulette, and say which rule set the figure assumes.

Many slots are supplied in several versions with different RTP settings, and the casino chooses which to run. A game published with a top RTP of 96% might be offered at a lower setting at some casinos. That is allowed, but it changes the expected cost of play, so we always tell readers to check the help screen of the version in front of them. The Commission’s Remote Technical Standards (opens in a new tab) set the rules games must follow, including how information is displayed.

How scores work

Where we give a score, it reflects published, checkable facts such as licensing, offer terms, payment information and safer gambling tools, assessed in the same way for every casino scored. Scores are never sold, and a casino cannot change its score by paying us or by offering a better commercial deal. We do not score or rank the brands we profile but do not partner with. The method is set out in full on our how we rate page.

A score is a summary, not a substitute for the facts behind it. We encourage readers to look at the dated facts on a page as well as its score, because their priorities may differ from ours. If a fact behind a score changes, such as an offer being withdrawn or a licence status changing on the register, the score is reviewed together with the page.

Independence and affiliate disclosure

Latest Casinos is funded by affiliate commission. When a reader joins one of our partner casinos through a link on the site, we may be paid. We say this openly on our advertiser disclosure page and wherever offers appear.

Commercial relationships do not decide what we write. Partners do not see or approve pages before publication, offers are described only with their published terms, and we say plainly when no partner offer matches what a reader is looking for. Pages about problem gambling, self-exclusion and support carry no offers. Advertising content is checked against the ASA’s CAP Code rules on gambling (opens in a new tab) and the Commission’s social responsibility requirements.

Our responsible gambling commitments

  • We present gambling as entertainment that costs money, and explain that losses are likely over time because of the house edge.
  • We never describe gambling as a way to make money or solve financial problems, and we avoid pressure, urgency or glamorising language.
  • We write for adults and avoid anything that could appeal to under-18s.
  • We state 18+ and that terms apply wherever offers are discussed, with key terms next to the headline.
  • We present deposit limits, time-outs, reality checks and GAMSTOP as positive tools.
  • We signpost free help, including the National Gambling Helpline run by GamCare (opens in a new tab) on 0808 8020 133.

Our safer gambling page brings together the support and tools available in the UK.

AI-assisted drafting and editorial review

Some pages are drafted with the help of AI tools. AI is not used as a source of facts. Every AI-assisted draft is reviewed by editors before publication: each figure, date and rule is checked against its source, unverifiable statements are removed, and the text is edited for accuracy, clarity and compliance. Editors are responsible for everything published on the site, however it was drafted.

Corrections policy and update frequency

When we get something wrong, we fix it. Readers can report errors through our contact page; each report is checked against the source, and where we were wrong the page is corrected and its review date updated. Significant corrections, such as a wrong date for a rule or an inaccurate offer term, are fixed as a priority.

  1. A reader, partner or team member reports a possible error.
  2. The team checks the claim against the primary source.
  3. If the page is wrong, it is corrected and the review date is updated.
  4. Related pages that repeat the same fact are checked and corrected too.

Pages are updated when a rule changes, when a casino changes the published terms a page relies on, or when a correction is needed. Partner offers are rechecked regularly, and the date of the latest check is shown next to them. Rule pages are reviewed when the Gambling Commission announces a change or a new rule takes effect. Every page shows when it was last reviewed, so readers can judge how current it is.

Frequently asked questions

When were the offers and pages on this site last checked?

Partner offers were last checked against the casinos’ published terms on 5 October 2026, and pages were reviewed on 20 October 2026. Each page shows its own review date, and offers show the date of their latest check. If an offer has changed since then, the casino’s own terms take priority, so always read them before you sign up. We recheck offers regularly and update pages when rules change. Our how we rate page explains how checks feed into scores.

How do you verify a casino’s licence?

We search the Gambling Commission’s public register by company name, trading name or account number, and confirm that the licence is active, that it covers remote casino activity and that the brand’s trading name and web address appear on it. We use the register rather than casino footers, because footers can vary by location. The Commission notes that trading and domain names are supplied by businesses. Our guide on how to check a casino licence shows the same steps for readers.

Why might a casino’s RTP differ from the figure you quote?

Many developers publish the same slot in several versions with different RTP settings, and each casino chooses which version to run. We quote the developer’s published figure and make clear that it may be the highest available setting. The figure that applies to you is the one in the game’s help or information screen at the casino where you play. A lower setting is allowed but means a higher expected cost. Our how to check slot RTP guide shows where to find it.

Do you use AI to write content?

Some pages are drafted with AI assistance. AI tools are not used as a source of facts, and nothing is published without editorial review. Editors check every figure, date and rule against its primary source, remove anything that cannot be verified, and edit the text for accuracy, clarity and compliance with UK advertising and safer gambling standards. Editors are responsible for all published content. Our editorial team page describes the roles involved in that review.

Does affiliate commission affect your content?

We earn commission when readers join our partner casinos through links on the site, and we disclose this openly. Commission does not buy scores, rankings or wording, and partners do not see pages before publication. We describe offers only with their published terms, say when no partner offer matches what a reader is looking for, and keep safer gambling pages free of offers. Our advertiser disclosure explains the arrangement in full.

How do I report an error?

Use our contact page and tell us which page is affected and what you believe is wrong. A link to the source that shows the correct information, such as a casino’s terms or a Gambling Commission page, helps us check it quickly. Every report is checked against the primary source. If we were wrong, we correct the page, update its review date and check any related pages that repeat the same fact. We cannot resolve disputes between readers and casinos.

What are your responsible gambling commitments?
