Free spins mobile verification in the UK

Free spins mobile verification offers credit spins once you confirm your phone number with a one-time text code. A text code alone can’t unlock play at a UK-licensed casino, because full age and identity checks come first. None of our partners runs this kind of offer in October 2026; here is how they work and what comes closest (18+, terms apply).

Key takeaways

  • An SMS code proves you hold a phone number; it does not replace the age and identity checks required since 7 May 2019.
  • Confirming your number is not consent to marketing texts: since 1 May 2025 SMS marketing is a separate opt-in.
  • None of our partners pays spins for phone verification; PlayOJO gives 80 spins at 10p after a £10 first deposit, with no wagering.
  • Coral, Ladbrokes and PlayOJO all have dedicated casino apps rated 18+ in the UK app stores.

What free spins mobile verification means

In a phone-verification offer, the casino sends a short code by text message to the number you gave at sign-up. You type the code into the site or app, the number is marked as verified, and a small set of spins is credited, normally on a single slot at a fixed stake. It is a variant of the no deposit free spins idea, with the phone number standing in for a payment as the thing you hand over.

The phrase is sometimes confused with spins for playing on mobile. That is a different thing: a mobile casino bonus is an offer for using an app or mobile site, whereas a verification offer is about proving the number is yours. Both sit on the offers hub with every other type of deal we track.

Why casinos use mobile verification for spins

A verified number does three jobs for the operator. It cuts down on duplicate accounts, since one number can only be attached to one account. It gives the casino a reliable channel for security codes and service messages, such as a warning that your password changed. And it acts as a light check that a real person is behind the sign-up, which matters for offers that cost the casino something without a deposit.

None of that proves your age or identity, though. Those checks run against your name, address and date of birth, and a casino must finish them before you play. The page on bonus abuse explains why operators guard welcome offers so closely.

The age and identity rule is set out in the Gambling Commission’s age, ID and financial verification guide (opens in a new tab). Our casino verification guide explains each step from the player’s side, and the know your customer rules page covers the regulation behind it.

Your number, your marketing choices

Since 1 May 2025, casinos licensed in Great Britain must let you choose direct marketing separately for each product (casino, betting, bingo) and each channel (email, SMS, phone), with nothing pre-selected. Verifying your phone number is therefore not the same as agreeing to receive promotional texts. If an offer is only available to people who accept SMS marketing, that should be clear in the terms.

The Commission answers the common question how to stop gambling marketing texts and emails (opens in a new tab), and our marketing consent rules page sets out what operators must offer. To switch off texts you already receive, see the guide to opting out of casino marketing.

What a phone verification spins pack is worth

These packs are usually small. Take an illustrative five spins at 20p: that is £1 of play. On a slot returning 96% over the long run, the average return is 96p. If winnings come as bonus money with the maximum 10x wagering allowed since 19 January 2026, a £1.50 win means £15 of further play, which costs about 60p on average at the same RTP, leaving about 90p. A withdrawal cap or a minimum withdrawal above that sum can make the result impossible to cash out.

Run the same sums on any offer you see with the bonus value calculator guide, and remember that the house edge applies to every spin; most small packs return less than their face value.

Claiming spins on your phone at our partners

Our partners don’t pay spins for verifying a number, but all three of the offers shown here can be claimed on a phone. Their apps, as listed in the UK app stores on 20 October 2026, are dedicated casino apps rated 18+.

  2. Register with your legal name, date of birth and UK address, then enter any SMS code the app sends for security.
  3. Complete the age and identity check; upload documents in the app if asked.
  4. Choose your marketing preferences channel by channel.
  5. Pick a deposit limit when the casino asks, which happens before any money goes in.
  6. Deposit with a method that qualifies for the offer and follow its trigger: a £10 first deposit at PlayOJO, or £10 of slot play at Coral and Ladbrokes.

Deposit at least £10 for the first time to get 80 spins on Big Bass Bonanza at 10p each; winnings are paid in cash with no wagering. The offer is exclusive to the designated offer link and doesn’t combine with other promotions.

Ladbrokes (from 14 November 2025 until further notice): 18+, new customers. Deposit and spend £10 or more on slots for 50 spins a day over the first 10 days, up to 500, at 10p each; claim before 23:59 each day, each batch valid 7 days, no wagering. Prepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers don’t qualify. The daily claim suits players who will open the app each day anyway; the daily free spins page explains this format.

Texts offering spins: spotting the fakes

Text messages promising spins are a common route for phishing. A genuine casino will only text you about marketing if you opted in to SMS for that product. Be suspicious of any message that uses a shortened link, asks you to reply with a code, or claims you have won spins at a site you have never joined. Never pass a verification code to anyone who contacts you, because it may be the key to your account. Our guide to casino scams to avoid lists the common patterns, and account security explains two-step login.

UK game rules apply on mobile too

Spins played in an app follow the same rules as on a computer. Slots must take at least 2.5 seconds per spin and have no autoplay or turbo, rules in force since 31 October 2021; see the spin speed limit. Stake limits are £5 per spin for players aged 25 and over and £2 for 18 to 24-year-olds. Your balance and net position stay on screen during play, which is easy to overlook on a small display.

Phones, habits and safer play

Having a casino in your pocket makes it easy to play more often than you meant to. Reality checks, time-outs and deposit limits are all available in the account settings of UK-licensed apps, and GAMSTOP blocks every licensed site and app at once if you need a longer break. The time-outs explained page shows how short breaks work. Free help is on 0808 8020 133, the National Gambling Helpline, any time of day.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get free spins for verifying my mobile number?

Some sites have offered them, but none of our partners does as of 5 October 2026. At a UK-licensed casino a text code is never enough on its own, because full age and identity checks must be completed before any play. Where these offers exist, the spins are typically few and may carry wagering up to 10x. Instead, our partners credit spins once you deposit or stake £10. See latest no-deposit offers for anything we have verified.

Does SMS verification count as ID verification?

No. An SMS code only proves you can receive texts on that number. UK-licensed casinos must verify your age and identity, using your name, address and date of birth, before you can gamble, a rule in force since 7 May 2019. Many checks run automatically; if not, you upload a photo ID and proof of address. Phone verification is an extra layer some operators add. The age verification rule page explains what is legally required.

Will I get marketing texts if I verify my phone?

Not unless you choose to. Since 1 May 2025, UK casinos must ask you to opt in to marketing separately for each product and each channel, including SMS, with opt-out as the default. Verification and security codes are service messages, not marketing. You can change your preferences in account settings whenever you like. If texts keep arriving after you opt out, raise it with customer support. The casino email and SMS offers guide explains the difference.

Why haven’t I received my verification code?

The usual causes are a mistyped number, poor signal, a blocked short-code sender or a full inbox. Check the number in your account settings, wait a couple of minutes, then request a new code. Some networks block messages from certain senders, which your provider can lift. If codes still don’t arrive, contact the casino’s support team, who can verify you another way. The customer support guide explains which channel to use for which problem.

Are phone verification free spins available on the app only?

Not necessarily. Phone verification can happen on a website or an app; the code simply arrives by text. Offers sometimes differ between platforms, so read the terms on whichever you use. Our partners’ welcome offers can be claimed on their mobile sites or apps: PlayOJO, Coral and Ladbrokes each have dedicated casino apps rated 18+ in UK app stores. For an overview of mobile play, see the mobile casino guide.

Can I use one phone number for two casino accounts?

Not at the same casino. A number can normally be attached to only one account there, which is partly why operators use phone checks. At different operators you can reuse your number, but sister brands under one licence holder may treat you as one customer for welcome offers. Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited, so check their terms. The question how many casino accounts can I have covers this.

What do I do if I get a text offering spins from a site I don’t know?

Don’t click the link or reply. Genuine casinos only send marketing texts to customers who opted in for that product and channel. A message from an unknown site may be phishing or come from an unlicensed operator. Delete it, and if it claims to be from a brand you use, log in through the official app to check your messages there. You can report spam texts to your network. Our casino scams page lists common tricks.

Do phone verification spins have wagering?

Often. Winnings may be credited as bonus money, which since 19 January 2026 can need no more than 10x wagering at a UK-licensed casino. Five spins returning £1.50 would therefore need up to £15 of play before withdrawal. Some offers add a withdrawal cap or a minimum withdrawal that small wins can’t reach. Our partners’ deposit-led spins carry no wagering on winnings. The guide to calculating wagering shows the sums step by step.

Can I claim mobile verification spins in Northern Ireland?

It depends on the operator’s terms. The Gambling Act 2005 applies to Great Britain, and some UK offers exclude Northern Ireland altogether. PlayOJO’s 80-spins welcome offer is one example: it is for new UK customers excluding Northern Ireland. Read the eligibility section of any offer before verifying your number. The explainer on playing UK casinos in Northern Ireland covers the legal position.

Is it safe to give a casino my phone number?

At a casino licensed by the Gambling Commission, yes, within the usual limits of sharing data online. Licensed operators must handle your data lawfully and can only send you marketing if you opt in. Check the licence on the Commission’s public register before signing up, and use two-step login if offered. Never share a code someone asks you for by phone or message. The casino data privacy guide explains your rights.
