Immersive Roulette

Immersive Roulette is Evolution's live European roulette game filmed with multiple cameras and slow-motion replays of the ball dropping into its pocket. Underneath the presentation it is standard single-zero roulette: 37 pockets, 35 to 1 for a single number and a house edge of 2.70% on the standard bets, unless the table's help screen says otherwise.

Key takeaways

  • It's single-zero European roulette with a cinematic presentation, not a new set of rules.
  • Standard bets pay the usual European odds, with a 2.70% house edge on the standard bets.
  • Replays and camera changes slow each round down, which reduces spins per hour.
  • Call bets such as voisins du zéro are usually available on the racetrack.
  • The £5 slot stake limit doesn't cover roulette; set your own deposit limit first.

What Immersive Roulette is and who makes it

Immersive Roulette was one of the first live roulette games to treat the spin as something to be filmed rather than simply shown. It comes from Evolution, the live casino studio whose range is listed on Evolution's website (opens in a new tab). The wheel is a standard single-zero European roulette wheel; what changes is how you see it.

Several cameras follow the action, switching between wide shots of the dealer, close-ups of the wheel and a slowed-down view of the ball's last bounces. The result is shown on screen and settled in the usual way. For a player, that means the rules, bets and odds you already know from online roulette apply unchanged, with a slower and more visual round around them.

Evolution has also released other games that use the Immersive name, and their features or payouts can differ. Whatever the lobby tile says, the game's help screen is the source to check; the help panel inside the game shows where to find the paytable and RTP.

Cameras and slow-motion replays: what you actually see

A typical Immersive Roulette round moves through a sequence of views. While bets are open you watch the dealer and the betting grid. After the ball is launched, the stream cuts to tighter shots of the wheel, and as the ball slows the game plays back its final moments in slow motion before announcing the number.

Those replays are presentation, not information. They let you see clearly where the ball landed, which helps if you want to confirm a result, but they don't tell you anything about where the next ball will go. The wheel has no memory, and the slow-motion footage of one spin can't predict the next.

How to play Immersive Roulette, step by step

  1. Open the table from the live roulette section and check the minimum and maximum stakes on the grid.
  2. Choose a chip value and place bets on the layout or the racetrack before the timer ends.
  3. Betting closes and the dealer spins the wheel and launches the ball.
  4. Watch the multi-camera sequence and slow-motion replay as the ball settles.
  5. The winning number is displayed and bets are settled; your net position and session time stay visible on screen.

If you've played a standard live table, the only new thing is the wait. If you haven't, our guide on how to play live roulette explains timers, chip values and chat etiquette.

Immersive Roulette payouts and house edge

Because it uses a single-zero wheel with standard payouts, the cost of each standard bet is the same: 2.70%, or an RTP of 97.30%. The table shows the main bets with their chances and returns on a £1 stake.

The figures match the standard European analysis set out in the Wizard of Odds roulette guide (opens in a new tab). Our roulette odds and payouts page gives the same list for every roulette variant, and roulette bets explained describes how each bet is placed.

Some live roulette tables apply French rules such as la partage to even-money bets, which halves the edge on those bets. Immersive Roulette is normally a European-rules table; if a version offers la partage, the help screen will say so.

Racetrack and call bets at Immersive Roulette

Live European tables usually include a racetrack, an oval view of the wheel's number order, for placing French-style call bets in one click. These cover sections of the wheel rather than areas of the grid. Typical chip counts:

Common call bets on a European wheel
Call betNumbers coveredChips£1 chips total stake
Voisins du zéro179£9
Tiers du cylindre126£6
Orphelins85£5
Neighbours (a number plus two each side)55£5
Jeu zéro (where offered)74£4

Call bets are just bundles of standard splits, streets, corners and straight-ups, so they carry the same 2.70% edge. Their main effect is on your total stake: a £1 chip on voisins du zéro puts £9 on the table each spin. Our glossary also covers tiers du cylindre, orphelins and the neighbours bet.

Choosing bets when every bet costs the same

With a flat 2.70% edge, the choice between bets is really a choice about how your session feels. Even-money bets win nearly half the time and lose slowly; straight-ups win rarely and swing hard. Over 100 spins at £2 a spin, both approaches have the same expected cost, about £5.40, but the range of likely results is very different.

  • Outside bets such as red/black: frequent, small wins and a steadier balance.
  • Dozens and columns: one win in three on average, at 2 to 1.
  • Inside bets and call bets: long gaps and larger individual wins, with more chips on the table each spin.

Spins per hour and what an Immersive Roulette session costs

Replays and camera sequences add time to every round, so you play fewer spins in an hour than on an automated or RNG table. Fewer spins means less money staked and a lower expected cost per hour at the same stake. The figures below use illustrative round counts, not measured timings.

Expected hourly cost at a £2 stake per spin (illustrative pace)
Table typeRounds per hour (illustrative)Total stakedExpected cost at 2.70%
Slower, presentation-heavy table40£80About £2.16
Standard live table60£120About £3.24
Fast automated or RNG table120£240About £6.48

The exact pace depends on the table and the number of players, but the principle holds: slower games cost less per hour for the same stake. Auto Roulette sits at the fast end of the live range; RNG games must allow at least 5 seconds per game cycle under UK rules since 17 January 2025.

Slow motion, patterns and other roulette myths

  • 'Slow motion shows a biased wheel.' A single replay can't reveal bias; licensed live wheels are checked, and one spin tells you nothing about the next.
  • 'Dealers aim for sections.' Launch speed, wheel speed and ball bounces make deliberate targeting impractical; see can you predict roulette.
  • 'Hot numbers keep coming.' The history panel is a record, not a forecast; our gambler's fallacy guide explains why.
  • 'Covering more numbers reduces risk.' It raises your total stake and smooths results, but the 2.70% edge applies to every chip.

UK rules for Immersive Roulette and live tables

  • You must be 18+ and age-verified before you deposit or play, including demos (since 7 May 2019).
  • Credit card gambling has been banned since 14 April 2020.
  • Autoplay is banned on all online casino games since 17 January 2025, and casino games must display net position and time played.
  • Roulette isn't covered by the £5 and £2 slot stake limits, so the table maximum is the only cap on stakes.
  • Bonus wagering is capped at 10x since 19 January 2026; live roulette often counts at a reduced rate.

If roulette is taking more time or money than you planned, the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 is free and open 24/7, and GamCare's live chat (opens in a new tab) is another route. Our free gambling support UK page lists other services.

Frequently asked questions

What is Immersive Roulette?

It is a live European roulette game from Evolution, filmed with multiple cameras and slow-motion replays of the ball landing. The wheel has 37 pockets with a single zero, and standard bets pay the usual odds, such as 35 to 1 for a single number. The presentation is the difference; the rules and maths match a normal single-zero table. Check the help screen for any version-specific features. Our European roulette page explains the underlying game.

What is the RTP of Immersive Roulette?

On standard bets the RTP is 97.30%, which means a house edge of 2.70%, the same as any single-zero roulette table with standard payouts. Over the long run, £100 of bets is expected to return about £97.30. Short sessions vary widely around that figure. If a variant uses different payouts or added features, its help screen shows the relevant RTP. Our house edge explained guide shows how the 2.70% is calculated from the 37 pockets.

Does slow motion in Immersive Roulette change the odds?

No. The slow-motion replay is filmed after the ball has landed and simply shows the result more clearly. It doesn't affect where the ball goes, and it can't predict the next spin, because each spin is independent. The only practical effect is time: replays make rounds longer, so you play fewer spins per hour, which lowers your hourly cost at the same stake. For more on roulette randomness, read can you predict roulette.

What are the best bets in Immersive Roulette?

All standard bets carry the same 2.70% edge, so no bet is better value than another. The choice is about how your balance moves. Even-money bets win close to half the time and produce steadier results, while single numbers win rarely but pay 35 to 1. Call bets on the racetrack bundle several bets and raise your total stake per spin. Our page on outside bets explains the lower-variance options, and none of them removes the edge.

Is Immersive Roulette fair?

At UKGC-licensed casinos, yes. Live games must meet the Gambling Commission's technical standards, and the studio and operator both need licences for Great Britain. The physical wheel and ball decide the result, and the multi-camera replay lets you see it clearly. The house still has a built-in 2.70% edge from the zero, which is how the game makes money without any interference. You can check a casino's licence on the public register; are online casinos rigged explains the checks.

Can I play Immersive Roulette on my phone?

Yes, live roulette streams run in mobile browsers and casino apps, and the game adapts its layout to smaller screens. Landscape or full-screen mode makes the camera work easier to follow. Video streams use more data than RNG games, so Wi-Fi is sensible for longer sessions. The betting rules, payouts and UK protections are the same as on desktop. Our mobile casino UK guide covers apps, browsers and data use in more detail.

What is the minimum bet at Immersive Roulette?

Minimums are set by each casino's table and are shown on the betting grid when you open the game. They vary between casinos and between tables in the same lobby, so check before you join. Remember that call bets need several chips: a £1 voisins du zéro bet costs £9 per spin. Our casino table limits guide explains minimums, maximums and why they differ between live and RNG games.

Do UK stake limits apply to roulette?

No. The £5 per spin limit for players aged 25 and over, in force since 9 April 2025, and the £2 limit for 18–24-year-olds, in force since 21 May 2025, apply to reel-based online slots only. Roulette tables set their own limits. That makes deposit limits and session budgets the main way to keep spending in check. Since 31 October 2025 UK casinos must prompt you to set a financial limit before your first deposit; deposit limit rules explains how it works.

Can I use free spins or a bonus on Immersive Roulette?

Free spins can't be used on roulette; they are tied to specific slots. Deposit bonuses sometimes allow live roulette but often exclude it or count it at a reduced rate towards wagering. Since 19 January 2026 wagering is capped at 10x, which keeps the sums manageable, but always read the game restrictions and maximum bet rules first. Our how to read casino bonus terms guide shows where to find those conditions.
