Funky Time is Evolution’s disco-themed live game show: a presenter spins a 64-segment vertical wheel and you bet on the number 1, on letters, or on one of four bonus games. This guide sets out every segment, the true odds, what the published RTP means for a £10 session and which UK rules apply, checked 20 October 2026.
The wheel has 64 segments: 28 number 1s, 24 letters and 12 bonus segments split across four bonus games.
Before random multipliers, a £1 letter bet returns about 81p on average; the multipliers lift that to the published mid-90s RTP, so losses are still expected over time.
Bonus bets are the most volatile: the VIP Disco segment covers 1 of 64 spaces.
None of our partner welcome offers is built for Funky Time; read game contribution terms before using bonus money on it. 18+, terms apply.

What is Funky Time?
Funky Time is a live-streamed money wheel from Evolution, launched in 2023 and styled like a 1970s disco. A presenter starts each round, a vertical wheel with an LED centre turns, and whichever segment stops under the pointer decides who wins. It sits in the same family of live game shows as Crazy Time and Monopoly Live, but its letter segments and dance-floor bonus rounds give it a different feel and a different spread of outcomes.
Evolution describes the wheel on its corporate site (opens in a new tab) as part of a wider game show range. At a UK-licensed casino you reach Funky Time through the live casino lobby, usually under a heading such as Game Shows. Like any casino game, it is entertainment you pay for: the house keeps a margin on every bet, so the long-run result for players as a group is a loss.
Who Funky Time suits
It suits people who enjoy a presenter-led show and are comfortable with long gaps between bigger results. If you prefer steady, low-variance play, a low house edge game such as baccarat’s Banker bet will feel calmer.
The Funky Time wheel: all 64 segments
Everything in Funky Time flows from the wheel layout, so it pays to know the count. Published breakdowns list 28 number 1 segments, 24 letter segments and 12 bonus segments. The letters spell PLAY, FUNK and TIME, with each word covering 8 segments, which means each individual letter appears twice.

“Roughly once every” is an average, not a schedule. The wheel has no memory, so a VIP Disco that has not landed for 200 spins is exactly as likely on the next spin as it was on the first. That idea, the gambler’s fallacy, is the most common mistake made on wheel games.
How to play Funky Time, round by round
Open the live casino lobby at a UK-licensed site, choose Funky Time and check the table limits shown on screen.
Pick a chip value and place it on any mix of the number 1, individual letters and the four bonus games while the betting timer runs.
Watch the random multiplier phase: before the spin, multipliers are dropped onto some segments for that round only.
The presenter spins the wheel. If it stops on a number or letter you backed, you are paid at the base odds, boosted if a multiplier sat on that segment.
If it stops on a bonus segment you backed, you join that bonus game; if you did not back it, you watch while others play.
Check your balance and net position on screen before the next betting window opens.
Each round is a separate game cycle, and you start each one yourself. There is no auto-bet: a repeat or rebet button may copy your last stake, but you still have to press it every round.
Funky Time bets and payouts
Base payouts are the starting point; the random multipliers are what lift the return. Published descriptions list the number 1 at 1 to 1 and a letter at 25 to 1 before any multiplier, with the bonus games paying whatever the bonus round produces.

RTP figures are those quoted in published game guides for the standard version. Casinos can run different configurations, so the help screen inside the game is the figure that applies to you.
Why the multipliers matter so much
Do the maths without them and the gap is obvious. A £1 bet on the number 1 wins £2 back (stake plus £1) on 28 of 64 segments: 28 ÷ 64 × £2 = £0.875. A £1 bet on one letter returns £26 on 2 of 64 segments: 2 ÷ 64 × £26 = £0.8125. The random multipliers add the missing 8 to 14 pence per pound, bringing each bet up to the mid-90s. In other words, most of the value in Funky Time is concentrated in rare boosted results, which is why sessions can swing a long way in both directions.
The four Funky Time bonus games
You only take part in a bonus round if you had a bet on that bonus segment when the wheel stopped there. Your payout is your bonus stake multiplied by whatever multiplier you collect.
Bar bonus
Six segments make this the most frequent bonus. You choose one of three coloured glasses; each is filled with a multiplier between 2x and 20x, and a further wheel spin can boost one glass at random. Because the floor is 2x, the Bar is the gentlest of the four.
Stayin’ Alive bonus
You pick one of three ladders of 20 levels. Coloured balls are drawn, moving each ladder up one or two rungs, while black balls cost every player one of four lives. When the fourth black ball appears, you collect the multiplier on the rung your ladder reached.
Disco and VIP Disco bonuses
A character called Mr Funky moves around a dance floor of multiplier squares, steered by a direction wheel, collecting values until he steps off the edge. The VIP Disco floor is larger (63 squares against 37 in the standard Disco), which is why its potential is higher and its segment rarer.
Funky Time RTP and house edge in pounds
RTP is a long-run average across millions of rounds, and the house edge is simply 100% minus RTP. At 95.99% the edge on the number 1 is about 4p per £1 staked; on VIP Disco at 95.38% it is about 4.6p.

Those figures are averages. In a real session the spread is wide: you could finish £20 up after one boosted letter, or lose the whole budget without a bonus. The volatility of bonus bets in particular means your actual result will rarely look like the expected figure.
UK rules that apply to Funky Time
Funky Time is offered in Great Britain only through operators licensed by the Gambling Commission, and the supplier also needs a Commission licence. Several 2025–2026 rules shape how the game and any bonus around it work.
No autoplay. Since 17 January 2025, each game cycle on online casino products must be started individually, extending the 2021 slot autoplay ban.
Speed of play. The Commission’s speed-of-play decision (opens in a new tab) set a 5-second minimum game cycle for non-slot casino games from 17 January 2025. A live wheel round is far longer than that anyway.
Net position and time on screen. Casino sessions must show your net position and how long you have been playing.
Slot stake limits don’t apply. The £5 and £2 per-spin caps cover reel-based slots, so table limits on Funky Time are set by the casino instead; see table limits explained.
Bonus wagering capped at 10x. Since 19 January 2026, any bonus you use here can’t demand more than 10 times the bonus in play under the 10x wagering cap.
No betting pattern changes the RTP of any Funky Time bet. Every spin is independent, and each bet carries its own fixed edge. What you can control is stake size, how long you play and how you split risk.
Common Funky Time myths and what is actually true
Claim
What is actually true
A bonus is ‘due’ after a long gap
Each spin has the same 1-in-64 chance of VIP Disco, whatever happened before.
Tracking stats sites reveals patterns
Past results describe the past; they don’t change future odds.
Covering every segment locks in a profit
Every segment you cover carries its own edge, so covering them all just guarantees you pay the combined margin.
Outcomes come from the physical spin; presenters don’t control results. See are live dealers real?
Funky Time vs Crazy Time and other wheel shows
Funky Time is often compared with Crazy Time because both mix instant-win segments with bonus games. The biggest structural difference is the letters: 24 segments at 25 to 1 before multipliers, which gives a middle ground between the frequent low number bets and the rare bonuses. For a simpler wheel without bonus rounds, Dream Catcher and Mega Wheel are closer to a pure money wheel.
Advantages
Clear layout: 64 segments are easy to reason about
Letter bets offer a mid-risk option between numbers and bonuses
Several bonus formats, each with a visible multiplier floor or ladder
Drawbacks
Return depends heavily on rare multipliers
Bonus bets lose their stake on most spins
Sessions are slow, which can tempt bigger stakes per round
Setting a Funky Time budget and staying in control
Decide the amount before you open the lobby, and treat it as the price of the show. Since 31 October 2025 UK casinos must prompt you to set a financial limit before your first deposit; setting a deposit limit and a reality check are sensible for slower live games, where an hour passes quickly.

Where to play Funky Time in the UK
Funky Time appears in the live casino lobbies of many UK-licensed sites, but game lists change, so check the lobby before you deposit. Casumo, PlayOJO and Coral all list live casino sections; see Casumo’s live casino, PlayOJO’s live casino and Coral’s live casino for what each publishes.
On offers, be precise. Casumo’s 50% bonus up to £100 (18+, new customers, opt-in, minimum deposit £20, 10x wagering within 7 days, £5 max bet, game restrictions apply) is the only one paid as bonus money, but check whether live game shows contribute before relying on it. PlayOJO’s 80 spins (18+, minimum first deposit £10, 10p each, no wagering) are on Big Bass Bonanza, and Coral’s 100 spins (18+, bet £10 on slots, 10p each, no wagering) are for selected slots, so neither can be played on Funky Time. Our live casino bonus guide explains how game contribution works, and the games hub lists other shows.

Frequently asked questions
What is Funky Time?
Funky Time is a live game show from Evolution built around a 64-segment vertical wheel with a disco theme. You bet on the number 1, on individual letters spelling PLAY, FUNK and TIME, or on four bonus games, and a presenter spins the wheel to settle every bet. Random multipliers are added to some segments before each spin. It launched in 2023 and is available in the live casino lobby at many UK-licensed sites. Like the other live game shows, it has a built-in house edge, so it is entertainment rather than a way to make money.
How many segments are on the Funky Time wheel?
There are 64 segments. Published breakdowns list 28 number 1 segments, 24 letter segments (8 each for PLAY, FUNK and TIME, so each letter appears twice) and 12 bonus segments: 6 Bar, 3 Disco, 2 Stayin’ Alive and 1 VIP Disco. Those counts give the true chance of each result per spin, for example 28 in 64 (43.75%) for the number 1 and 1 in 64 for VIP Disco. Knowing them is the quickest way to judge how often a bet lands; see our wheel game odds explainer for the method.
What is the RTP of Funky Time?
Published figures put Funky Time’s RTP at about 95.4% to 96% depending on the bet, with the number 1 quoted at 95.99% and VIP Disco at 95.38%. That means the house keeps roughly 4p to 4.6p of every pound staked over the very long run. Casinos can run different configurations, so the figure shown in the game’s help screen is the one that applies. Our RTP explainer covers why short sessions rarely match the long-run average.
What is the best bet in Funky Time?
On published figures, the number 1 has the highest RTP, about 95.99%, and wins most often, on 28 of 64 segments. That makes it the lowest-cost bet per pound over time, not a winning one. Bonus bets have slightly lower quoted RTPs and far bigger swings. No bet in Funky Time has a player advantage, so the best choice depends on the kind of session you want, with your budget fixed beforehand. Our best odds casino games guide compares Funky Time with lower-edge games.
How do the Funky Time letters pay?
A letter bet pays 25 to 1 before multipliers, so £1 on the letter F returns £26 if the wheel stops on an F. Each letter covers 2 of the 64 segments, giving a 3.13% chance per spin. Without multipliers that bet would return only about 81p per pound on average; the random multipliers dropped onto segments each round make up most of the difference. You can back several letters at once, but each one carries its own edge. Read more on how multipliers work.
Can I play Funky Time for free in the UK?
Some casinos and suppliers offer demo or watch-only modes, but in Great Britain free-to-play casino games can only be accessed after age verification, a rule in force since May 2019. Many sites simply let you watch the live stream without betting once you are logged in. Watching a few rounds is a sensible way to learn the bonus games before staking anything. Our demo play guide explains what UK sites can and can’t offer without verification.
Is Funky Time rigged?
There is no evidence that Funky Time is rigged at UK-licensed casinos. The wheel is physical, the studio is run by a Commission-licensed supplier, and operators must offer only games that meet the Commission’s technical standards. The game is designed to have a house edge, which is not the same as being unfair: the odds are published in the help screen. If you think a result was settled wrongly, raise it with the casino first. See are online casinos rigged? for how testing works.
Do casino bonuses work on Funky Time?
Sometimes, but often not in full. Many UK bonus terms exclude live game shows or give them a low contribution towards wagering, and free spins are almost always tied to specific slots. Since 19 January 2026 wagering can’t exceed 10 times the bonus, which makes bonus play clearer, but the contribution rate still matters. Always read the game restrictions in the terms before you opt in. Our guide to game weighting explains how contribution rates change the real cost of clearing a bonus.
Is there a maximum bet on Funky Time in the UK?
There is no national stake limit for Funky Time; the £5 and £2 per-spin caps introduced in 2025 apply to online slots, not live wheel games. Each casino sets its own table limits for the game, shown in the lobby and in the help screen. If you are playing with an active bonus, the bonus terms may also cap your stake, as Casumo’s £5 maximum bet rule does. Our explainer on the max bet rule covers how those caps are enforced.
What happens if my connection drops during a Funky Time round?
Bets placed before the betting window closed usually stand, and the round is settled automatically even if you are disconnected. If you had a bet on a bonus game that triggered while you were offline, the game typically makes a default choice for you, such as a random glass or ladder. Check your account history once you reconnect, and contact the casino if a result looks wrong. Our page on losing connection mid-game explains the usual rules.
