Monopoly Live game show

Monopoly Live is Evolution’s live money-wheel game with a 3D Monopoly board bonus, where you bet on numbers or on the 2 Rolls and 4 Rolls segments that send Mr Monopoly round the board. Numbers pay fixed odds, Chance segments add cash or multipliers, and the highest RTP commonly quoted for the game is about 96.2%, varying by bet spot.

Key takeaways

  • The wheel has 54 segments: 1, 2, 5 and 10, plus two Chance, three 2 Rolls and one 4 Rolls.
  • You can’t bet on Chance; it awards a cash prize or a multiplier for the next spin to everyone with bets in play.
  • To win in the board bonus you must have backed the 2 Rolls or 4 Rolls spot that triggered it.
  • The highest RTP commonly quoted is about 96.2%; check the help panel for each spot’s figure.
  • UK casino games have had no autoplay since 17 January 2025, and your net position must be on screen.

Monopoly Live in a nutshell

Monopoly Live blends two things: a presenter-spun money wheel like Dream Catcher, and a computer-animated Monopoly board that appears when a bonus segment lands. It is made by Evolution under licence from Hasbro, which owns the Monopoly brand, and was launched in 2019, a year before the studio’s Crazy Time show.

The British board is the default, so the squares carry the familiar London street names, with German and Italian boards available to some casinos. The animation is the hook, but the money still comes from a wheel of chance and random prize values, with an edge for the house built into the payouts.

Monopoly Live wheel segments and odds

All 54 segments are equal in size. The chance of each outcome is simply its segment count divided by 54.

A number win is paid at its odds and your stake comes back with it. Evolution’s own game description and the in-game help both describe bets as paid ‘with the odds matching the number in the winning segment’, so £2 on 5 returns £10 winnings plus the £2 stake.

How to play Monopoly Live: a round from start to finish

  1. Join the table from a UK-licensed casino’s live lobby during the betting window.
  2. Place chips on any of the six bet spots: 1, 2, 5, 10, 2 Rolls or 4 Rolls.
  3. Betting closes and the presenter spins the wheel.
  4. If a number lands, bets on it are paid at the number’s odds.
  5. If Chance lands, Mr Monopoly reveals a card with a cash prize or a multiplier.
  6. If 2 Rolls or 4 Rolls lands, players who backed that spot go to the 3D board bonus.
  7. Place your next bets yourself; UK casino games have no autoplay.

Chance segments in Monopoly Live

You can’t bet on Chance directly. When it lands, Mr Monopoly shows a card. A cash card pays everyone in the round the amount shown. A multiplier card keeps all bets in place, spins the wheel again, and multiplies whatever that next spin pays. If the next spin is another multiplier card, the two combine; if it is a bonus segment, the multiplier applies to the bonus prizes.

Worked example: you have £2 on ‘5’ and £1 on ‘2 Rolls’. Chance lands and shows a 3x multiplier. The wheel respins and stops on 5. Your 5 bet pays 5 × 3 = 15 times your stake: £30 winnings plus your £2 back. Your 2 Rolls chip loses. Had the respin hit 2 Rolls, the 3x would have applied to your board prizes instead.

The 2 Rolls and 4 Rolls board bonus explained

When a Rolls segment lands, players who backed that exact spot see an animated board. Mr Monopoly rolls two dice and moves the total number of squares, and you collect the prize on each square where he stops. Prize values are multipliers of your stake on that Rolls spot.

  • 2 Rolls gives at least two rolls; 4 Rolls gives at least four.
  • Rolling a double earns an extra roll, except when the double is used to get out of Jail.
  • Special squares, including Chance, Community Chest, Go and Jail, have effects described in the game’s help panel.
  • When the rolls run out, the bonus total is paid along with your original Rolls stake.

Because a 4 Rolls bonus offers more stops, it pays more on average than 2 Rolls, but it appears only once in 54 spins against three times for 2 Rolls. Both spots carry the risk you’d expect from a bonus round: most of the time the chip simply loses.

Bonus outcomes after the wheel lands are animated and generated by the game’s random systems; the presenter doesn’t influence the dice.

Monopoly Live RTP and house edge

Evolution lists a theoretical return for each bet spot in the help panel. The highest commonly quoted figure is about 96.23%, and the other spots sit a little lower, so the house edge is roughly 4% or more depending on where you put your chips. Read the figure in the version you open; our guide to reading casino game help screens shows where.

Put that against other live games. A 96% return is similar to many slots, lower than European roulette’s 97.3%, and well below well-played blackjack. Our guide to the house edge explains how to compare games that look nothing alike.

Actual results swing far more than these averages, especially if much of your stake sits on the Rolls spots.

Monopoly Live staking patterns compared

No staking pattern beats the edge, but choices change how a session feels. Backing only ‘1’ wins about 41% of spins at even money, so the balance moves slowly. Backing only the Rolls spots means losing on more than 92% of spins and relying on bonuses. Covering everything returns something on most spins but loses part of the stake almost every time.

Advantages

  • Number bets: frequent results, slower swings
  • Rolls bets: access to the bonus board
  • Chance boosts apply to every bet in play

Drawbacks

  • Number bets: small payouts on the common segments
  • Rolls bets: long losing runs are normal
  • Covering all spots: a steady drain between bonuses

Whatever pattern you choose, set the total for the session first. Tools such as deposit limits and reality checks are designed for exactly this kind of fast, colourful game.

Monopoly Live is the simpler of the two, with one bonus and fewer spots. Crazy Time offers more variety and higher-variance bonuses. Both sit in our live game shows guide alongside quieter options such as Mega Wheel.

UK rules for Monopoly Live

Live game shows are casino games, not slots, so the £5 and £2 per-spin slot stake limits don’t apply; the casino and studio set table limits. The game design rules extended to casino games on 17 January 2025 do apply: each bet is yours to place, with no autoplay, and the session’s net position and time must be visible. The Gambling Commission’s technical standards (opens in a new tab) hold the detail, and our game design rules page summarises it.

Only play on casinos on the Commission’s register. In July 2026 the Commission announced a £4.75m penalty for Evolution Malta Holding Limited (opens in a new tab) after its games reached British players through unlicensed sites, a reminder that the same game can appear on websites with none of the UK’s protections.

Monopoly Live myths

  • ‘4 Rolls is overdue.’ It is 1 in 54 every spin; gaps don’t change that, as the gambler’s fallacy guide explains.
  • ‘Chance always means a big multiplier.’ Cash cards are common and many multipliers are small.
  • ‘You can bet on Chance by covering the numbers.’ Chance can’t be backed; it only boosts bets already in play.
  • ‘A progression system will recover losses.’ Systems change stake sizes, not odds; see our betting systems explainer.

Frequently asked questions

What is the RTP of Monopoly Live?

The highest RTP commonly quoted for Monopoly Live is about 96.23%, and the figure varies by bet spot, with others slightly lower. That means a house edge of roughly 4% on the best spots, and more on the rest. Evolution shows the exact figure for each spot in the game’s help panel, which is the one to rely on. Our RTP explainer explains what a theoretical return means over a short session.

How often does 4 Rolls land in Monopoly Live?

There is one 4 Rolls segment among 54, so it lands on average once every 54 spins, a chance of about 1.9% per spin. 2 Rolls has three segments and lands about once every 18 spins. Each spin is independent, so a long gap doesn’t make 4 Rolls more likely. Results trackers show history, not predictions. Our gambler’s fallacy guide explains why patterns in past results don’t help.

Can you bet on Chance in Monopoly Live?

No. Chance is not a bet spot. When it lands, Mr Monopoly reveals either a cash prize, paid to everyone in the round, or a multiplier that applies to the next spin with all existing bets left in place. If the next spin lands on a bonus, the multiplier boosts the bonus prizes. Multipliers can also combine if Chance lands again. Our multiplier glossary entry explains how multipliers work across games.

Do I need to bet on 2 Rolls to win the bonus?

Yes. Only players who backed the specific Rolls segment that landed take part in the board bonus. If 4 Rolls lands and you only backed 2 Rolls, your chip loses and you watch the bonus. Bonus prizes are multipliers of your stake on that spot, paid with your stake when the rolls finish. Our bonus round glossary entry explains how bonus features usually pay.

What is the best strategy for Monopoly Live?

There is no strategy that beats the house edge; the result of every spin is random. What you can control is cost and pace. The number spots return slightly more than the Rolls spots on the commonly quoted figures, and smaller stakes stretch a budget further. Setting a session limit before you start matters more than any bet pattern. Our casino bankroll basics guide shows how to size stakes against a budget.

Is Monopoly Live fair?

At UK-licensed casinos, yes, in the sense that results are random and the edge is built into published payouts. The wheel is spun by a presenter in a regulated studio, and bonus outcomes come from tested random systems. Play only at casinos on the Gambling Commission’s public register to keep the UK’s protections. Our answer to whether live dealers are real explains how live studios are run and checked.

Is there a Monopoly Live demo?

Because it is a live studio game, there is usually no real-money-free version at UK casinos. You can watch rounds without betting once logged in. Any free-to-play casino games offered in Great Britain require age verification first, a rule in place since May 2019. Watching a few rounds is a good way to learn the flow before staking. Our demo play guide explains what free modes are available.

Do slot stake limits apply to Monopoly Live?

No. The £5 per spin limit for players aged 25 and over, and £2 for those aged 18 to 24, only apply to online slots, which are defined as reel-based games. Monopoly Live is a live game show, so its maximum bets come from the studio and the casino. Spreading chips across six spots can add up quickly, so check your total stake before each spin. Our page on the £2 slot stake limit explains who the rules cover.

Which Monopoly board does Monopoly Live use?

The British board is the default, so squares carry London names such as Mayfair and Old Kent Road. Evolution also offers German and Italian board versions, which some casinos may run. The board design doesn’t change the odds of the wheel; it is presentation. Bonus prizes are multipliers of your Rolls stake, set by the game’s maths. Our live game shows guide compares the other branded and unbranded shows.

Can I use a casino bonus on Monopoly Live?

Sometimes, but live game shows are often excluded from bonuses or contribute less towards wagering. Since 19 January 2026 wagering in Great Britain has been capped at 10x, so a £25 bonus needs at most £250 of qualifying play, but a 10% contribution would mean £2,500 of Monopoly Live bets. Check the terms before opting in. Our game weighting glossary entry explains how contributions work.
