Blueprint Gaming casino games come from a British studio in Newark, Nottinghamshire, best known for Fishin’ Frenzy, Eye of Horus and King Kong Cash, a long list of licensed Megaways titles and the Jackpot King progressive network. Here is who owns it, the licences it holds, how its main games work and why the RTP shown at one casino may differ from another.
Blueprint Gaming Limited (Gambling Commission account 6516) is based in Newark and has held a remote gambling software licence since 27 February 2013.
It belongs to the German Merkur Group (formerly Gauselmann), which took a stake in 2008 and full ownership in 2012.
Many Blueprint slots come in several RTP versions: Eye of Horus Megaways runs at 95.49%, 93%, 92% or 90%.
Jackpot King is a progressive jackpot that sits on top of many Blueprint games; check each game’s help screen for how it is triggered.

Blueprint Gaming casino games: a British studio profile
Blueprint Gaming was founded in 2001 and is still headquartered in Newark, Nottinghamshire, which makes it one of the few major slot suppliers designed and run from the UK. Its licences cover software for land-based gaming machines as well as online games, a sign of its roots in the British machine market. Today its titles are some of the most played in UK lobbies, led by the Fishin’ Frenzy family.
Its catalogue mixes three strands: home-grown series such as Fishin’ Frenzy and Eye of Horus, games built on the Megaways mechanic under licence from Big Time Gaming, and branded titles based on films and TV. A progressive jackpot called Jackpot King runs across many of them. The providers hub lists other studios if you want to compare.
Who owns Blueprint Gaming: from Gauselmann to Merkur
Blueprint is part of the German Merkur Group, the business previously known as the Gauselmann Group. Gauselmann took an equity stake in 2008 and bought the rest in 2012. Merkur is a large land-based gaming company, and Blueprint gives it a British design base and an online channel.

Blueprint Gaming’s licence on the Gambling Commission register
The register lists Blueprint Gaming Limited at Blueprint House, Newark, under account number 6516. When we read it on 20 October 2026 it showed three active remote licences: gambling software and gaming machine technical (full), both from 27 February 2013, and game host (casino) from 27 November 2017. Each also showed an application or variation in progress, which is a routine status when a licence is being amended. No regulatory actions were listed.
The gaming machine technical licence reflects Blueprint’s land-based roots: it covers making or supplying software for gaming machines, not just online games. You can check the live record on the Commission’s register of businesses (opens in a new tab). Other entries with similar names, such as Blueprint Operations Limited and Blueprint Technologies (Gibraltar) Limited, are separate accounts; the game’s help screen names the supplier responsible.
Fishin’ Frenzy and Eye of Horus: how Blueprint’s big two work
Fishin’ Frenzy
Fishin’ Frenzy is a 5×3, 10-line game with a published RTP of 96.12%, medium volatility and a 5,000x max win. Three or more scatters start free spins, during which fish symbols carry cash values and the fisherman symbol collects them. Our page on Fishin’ Frenzy free spins explains how offers on it are usually structured.
Eye of Horus
Eye of Horus is also 5×3 with 10 lines, published at 96.31% with high volatility. In free spins, each Horus wild that lands expands to cover its reel and also upgrades one of the lower-paying symbols to the next level, so the paytable improves as the feature goes on. The glossary covers both ideas: expanding wilds and symbol upgrades.
King Kong Cash
King Kong Cash is a 20-line game published at 95.79% with medium volatility, built around several bonus features. It is a good example of Blueprint’s habit of releasing a series of follow-ups once a theme proves popular.
Megaways under licence: Blueprint Gaming’s Megaways slots
Big Time Gaming invented Megaways and licenses it to other studios. Blueprint was one of the earliest and busiest licensees, converting its own hits and launching new themes. On a Megaways reel the number of symbols changes every spin, so the number of ways to win changes too; our Big Time Gaming profile explains the maths.

RTP ladders: what Blueprint’s lower versions cost
Blueprint publishes some games in a ladder of RTP settings, and the gaps can be wide. Eye of Horus Megaways is the clearest case, with four published versions. The game looks and plays the same in each; only the long-run return changes.

Going from the top setting to the bottom more than doubles the average cost of play. A short session can still finish anywhere, so the table is for comparing versions, not predicting results. Our RTP range glossary entry and the guide to checking RTP show where casinos display the figure.
Jackpot King progressive jackpots explained
Jackpot King is Blueprint’s in-house progressive jackpot. Many of its slots appear in a Jackpot King version, where special symbols can trigger a separate jackpot bonus game on top of the normal features. A small part of each stake feeds the jackpot pool, which grows until it is won.
Two practical points follow. First, check the help screen to see whether the published RTP includes the jackpot contribution; if it does, the base game returns less in everyday play. Second, the chance of the top prize on any spin is tiny, so value the game on its normal features. Our guides to progressive jackpots and jackpot networks explain how pools are funded and paid.
Branded Blueprint games and the Big Catch series
Blueprint makes heavy use of licensed brands: Ted Megaways and The Goonies (20 lines, 96.00%, medium-high volatility) are two examples. A brand changes the theme and bonus presentation, not the maths, so judge these games on RTP and volatility like any other.
The Big Catch series is a home-grown follow-up to the fishing theme. The Big Catch (May 2021) publishes 95.32% with a 92% version, and Even Bigger Catch (February 2023) 95% with a 93% version and a 10,000x max win. Both are good illustrations of why the version a casino picks matters.
UK rules applied to Blueprint Gaming casino games
As a British-licensed supplier, Blueprint builds its GB versions to the Commission’s remote technical standards (opens in a new tab). Since 31 October 2021 that has meant no autoplay, a minimum of 2.5 seconds per spin, no turbo or slam-stop and no celebrating results that return the stake or less. Feature buys are not offered in games supplied to Great Britain.

Frequently asked questions
Is Blueprint Gaming a UK company?
Yes. Blueprint Gaming was founded in 2001 and is headquartered at Blueprint House in Newark, Nottinghamshire. It is owned by the German Merkur Group, formerly the Gauselmann Group, which took a stake in 2008 and full ownership in 2012. Its Gambling Commission account, 6516, is registered at the Newark address. That makes it one of the few major online slot studios designed and run from Britain. Our software providers explainer shows how studios like it fit into the industry.
Is Blueprint Gaming licensed by the Gambling Commission?
Yes. Blueprint Gaming Limited, account 6516, holds remote licences for gambling software and gaming machine technical (full) activity from 27 February 2013, and for casino game hosting from 27 November 2017. All were active when the register was read on 20 October 2026, with routine variations pending. You can check the current status on the Commission’s public register; our licence-checking guide explains the fields.
What is the RTP of Fishin’ Frenzy?
The original Fishin’ Frenzy publishes an RTP of 96.12% with medium volatility and a 5,000x max win, and Fishin’ Frenzy Megaways publishes 96.10%. Casinos can run different versions of Blueprint games, so the figure in the game’s help screen is the one that applies to you. Over £100 of stakes, a 96.12% game costs about £3.88 on average, though a single session can vary widely. See our RTP explainer for what the number means in practice.
What is Jackpot King?
Jackpot King is Blueprint Gaming’s own progressive jackpot, attached to Jackpot King versions of many of its slots. Special symbols can trigger a separate jackpot bonus game, and a small part of every stake feeds the growing prize pool. The normal features still work as usual. Check whether the help screen’s RTP includes the jackpot share, as that affects everyday returns. Our guide to progressive jackpots explains how pools are funded and why the top prize is so rarely won.
Does Blueprint Gaming make Megaways slots?
Yes, under licence from Big Time Gaming, which invented the mechanic. Blueprint’s Megaways list includes Primal Megaways, Ted Megaways, Legacy of Ra Megaways, Diamond Mine Megaways, Fishin’ Frenzy Megaways and Eye of Horus Megaways. Many use six reels with up to five symbols each (15,625 ways), while some go to the full 117,649. Our Megaways slots page explains how the changing reel heights affect wins.
Why does Eye of Horus Megaways have four RTPs?
Because Blueprint offers it at 95.49%, 93%, 92% and 90%, and each casino chooses which to run. The graphics and features are identical, so only the help screen reveals the setting. The difference is large: £4.51 per £100 staked on average at the top version against £10 at the bottom. That doesn’t predict any single session, but it does change the long-run price of play. See the RTP range glossary entry for how casinos disclose which setting they use.
Are Blueprint slots good for low budgets?
Some suit smaller budgets better than others. Fishin’ Frenzy and King Kong Cash are published as medium volatility, which usually means more frequent, smaller returns, while Eye of Horus and most of the Megaways range are high volatility. Whatever you choose, a fixed budget and a deposit limit work better than adjusting stakes mid-session. Our guide to setting a gambling budget shows how to size stakes to the money you are happy to spend.
Can I buy free spins in Blueprint games in the UK?
No. The versions of Blueprint slots supplied to Great Britain don’t include a bonus buy, so free spins can only be triggered during normal play. Describe it as how games are supplied to British operators rather than as a dated rule. If a site serving UK players offers a buy option on a Blueprint game, check its licence before depositing. Our page on bonus buys in the UK gives the background.
What other games does Blueprint Gaming make besides slots?
Blueprint is mainly a slot studio, but its gaming machine technical licence shows it also supplies software for machines used in land-based venues, reflecting work beyond online casinos. Online, its range is dominated by video slots, Megaways titles and Jackpot King versions. If you enjoy the fruit-machine style it grew from, our fruit machines page covers that family of games and how they differ from modern video slots.
