A debit card casino bonus is any welcome offer you trigger with a Visa, Mastercard or Maestro debit card deposit, and in the UK the debit card is the method most offers accept. Coral and Ladbrokes give spins after a card deposit and £10 on slots, but Coral excludes certain debit cards and both exclude prepaid cards (terms checked 5 October 2026). Here is what qualifies and why. 18+, terms apply.
Debit cards are the method UK welcome offers most often accept; credit cards have been banned for gambling since 14 April 2020.
Prepaid cards are excluded from the Coral and Ladbrokes welcome spins, and Coral also excludes certain debit cards: check the full terms.
With £10 staked on slots, Coral gives 100 spins (£10 face value) and Ladbrokes up to 500 (£50) over 10 days; PlayOJO gives 80 spins for a £10 first deposit.
Coral and Ladbrokes pay debit card withdrawals through Visa Fast Funds, typically within about 4 hours of approval.

What a debit card casino bonus is
There is rarely a bonus made only for debit card users. The phrase describes ordinary welcome offers where a debit card deposit counts as the qualifying payment. Because e-wallets and prepaid cards are the methods most often excluded, a personal debit card in your own name is the most reliable way to trigger an offer at UK-licensed casinos.
The exceptions are written into each offer's payment clause. This page shows exactly how that clause reads at our partner casinos as of 5 October 2026, and what it means in pounds. The full list of offers is on our offers hub, and the payment method itself is covered on debit card casinos UK.

Coral's terms say certain debit cards don't qualify without naming them in the summary we hold, so check the full terms or ask Coral's support which ones before you deposit. This is the order that works at most UK casinos, with the partner specifics in brackets.
Read the offer's payment clause and confirm your card type isn't excluded (Coral: certain debit cards; Coral and Ladbrokes: prepaid cards).
Register as a new customer aged 18 or over, using the same name and address as your card.
Pick a deposit limit at the prompt that appears before the card is first charged.
Add the card in the cashier: card number, expiry date and the security code on the back.
Approve the payment in your banking app if your bank asks for extra verification.
Deposit at least the qualifying amount (£10 at PlayOJO; at Coral and Ladbrokes enough to stake £10 on slots).
Complete the qualifying action, such as £10 on slots, then accept or claim the spins within the deadline.
If the bonus doesn't appear, contact support with the deposit date and amount. Our guide to how to deposit shows each screen, and the cashier guide explains the deposit and withdrawal tabs.
What a £10 debit card deposit gets you at each partner
All three offers can be triggered with £10 of your own money. The Coral and Ladbrokes offers need that £10 staked on slots, so it is played rather than kept; PlayOJO requires the deposit but leaves you free to play it as you like.

The averages assume a 96% slot for Coral and Ladbrokes because their spins are on selected games with different RTPs. Spin winnings at all three carry no wagering. Remember that the £10 you stake on slots is itself exposed to the house edge, so expect a small average loss on it. Our bonus value guide shows the full method.

Bank gambling blocks and deposit limits on your card
Many UK banks let you switch on a gambling block for your debit card, which declines payments to gambling merchants. The Commission lists Bank of Scotland, Barclays, Halifax, HSBC, Lloyds, Monzo, NatWest, RBS, Santander and Starling among those that offer one. At some banks, turning a block off takes time or a call to support, which is deliberate.
If you want a casino bonus, a block will stop the deposit; if you want to stop gambling, it is one of the strongest tools available, alongside the deposit limit the casino asks you to set. Our pages on bank gambling blocks and deposit limit rules explain both, and the Starling gambling block page shows one bank's version.
Debit card bonus mistakes that cost players the offer
Using a partner's or family member's card; deposits must be in your own name.
Depositing with a prepaid card that looks like a debit card.
Choosing a saved credit card by accident; it should be declined, but it wastes the attempt.
Staking the qualifying £10 on roulette or blackjack when the offer needs slots.
Missing the 48-hour acceptance window at Coral or a daily 23:59 claim at Ladbrokes.
Adding too many payment methods: Coral and Ladbrokes allow three active methods per rolling 30 days in the UK.
A debit card is the method least likely to be excluded, but it isn't the only one that works. Apple Pay and Google Pay pass a card payment underneath and aren't named in Coral's or Ladbrokes' exclusions. PayPal, Skrill, Neteller and paysafecard are excluded from both of those offers. Compare the options on the Apple Pay casino bonus and PayPal casino bonus pages, or see pay by bank vs debit card for the banking alternative.
Where to use your debit card for a casino bonus
These three offers are the most straightforward debit card casino bonus options among our partners. Coral gives 100 spins at 10p when you deposit and bet £10 on slots (certain debit cards excluded); Ladbrokes gives 50 spins at 10p a day for 10 days, up to 500, when you deposit and play £10 on slots; PlayOJO gives 80 spins at 10p on Big Bass Bonanza for a first deposit of £10 or more, not available in Northern Ireland. All are for new customers aged 18 or over, pay spin winnings without wagering, and terms apply.
All three offers can be started with a first deposit, and Coral and Ladbrokes accept debit cards for theirs, apart from the card types their terms exclude. Coral and Ladbrokes give 10p spins after £10 on slots; PlayOJO gives 80 spins for a £10+ first deposit, so check its cashier for accepted cards. 18+, terms apply.
Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited (Entain). If you already hold an account with one Entain brand, you may not be able to open a new account with another; check the terms before signing up.

Frequently asked questions
Do UK casinos give bonuses for debit card deposits?
Yes, and a debit card is the method most welcome offers accept. At Coral and Ladbrokes, a debit card deposit followed by £10 on slots triggers the welcome spins, though Coral excludes certain debit cards and both exclude prepaid cards. Casumo accepts Visa and Mastercard and says payment restrictions apply to its bonus, while PlayOJO's offer needs a £10 first deposit; check its cashier for accepted cards. All terms were checked on 5 October 2026. See debit card casinos and how do I claim a casino bonus.
Which debit cards does Coral exclude from its bonus?
Coral's terms say certain debit cards don't qualify, and the summary we hold does not name them, so check the full offer terms or ask Coral's support before you deposit. The same terms exclude Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill and prepaid cards. Coral accepts Visa, Mastercard and Maestro debit cards for ordinary deposits, and the offer needs you to deposit and bet £10 on slots to receive 100 spins at 10p each, with no wagering on winnings. Our page on Coral's bonus payment exclusions and the Coral bonus terms page track the details.
Can I use a credit card for a casino bonus in the UK?
No. Gambling with a credit card has been banned in Great Britain since 14 April 2020, and the ban covers credit card money passed through e-wallets and digital wallets too. A licensed casino should decline any credit card deposit, so it can't trigger a bonus. If you use Apple Pay or Google Pay, make sure a debit card is set as the default. The rule aimed to reduce gambling with borrowed money. Read the credit card ban page and the guide to gambling and debt if money worries are part of the picture.
Are prepaid cards accepted for casino welcome bonuses?
Often not. Both Coral and Ladbrokes exclude prepaid cards from their welcome spins, even though a prepaid card can look like a debit card and some casinos accept it for ordinary deposits. If you're not sure what type of card you have, your card issuer can tell you, and the casino's support can confirm whether it qualifies for the offer. For a bonus, a personal debit card linked to a current account is the safer choice. See prepaid card casinos and Ladbrokes' excluded payment methods.
How fast are debit card withdrawals after a bonus?
At Coral and Ladbrokes, debit card withdrawals go through Visa Fast Funds: approval typically takes a couple of hours, then the money typically reaches your bank within about 4 hours, with payouts over £2,000 taking longer. Casumo quotes up to 2 days for cards after approval, and 10bet up to 2 business days. These are the operators' published typical times, not promises, and a first withdrawal may wait for identity checks. See Visa Fast Funds and how long casino withdrawals take.
Can I use my partner's debit card to claim a bonus?
No. UK casinos require deposits from payment methods in your own name, and Coral's and Ladbrokes' deposit help pages state their own-name rules. Using someone else's card, even with permission, can lead to the bonus being removed, withdrawals being held and the account being closed. It also means the payment isn't covered by your own deposit limits and checks. If two people in a household want to play, each needs their own account and card, and some offers allow only one per household. Read using someone else's card and multiple casino accounts.
What is the minimum debit card deposit for a casino bonus?
It depends on the offer. PlayOJO's welcome spins need a first deposit of at least £10, Casumo's 50% bonus needs at least £20, and 10bet's 100% match goes up to £25, so a £25 deposit takes it to the top. For the Coral and Ladbrokes spins you need to stake £10 on slots, so deposit at least £10; their general card minimum is shown in the cashier. The largest single UK deposit at Coral and Ladbrokes is £2,000. See what is the minimum deposit at UK casinos and £10 deposit offers.
Will a bank gambling block stop me claiming a casino bonus?
Yes. A gambling block on your debit card declines payments to gambling merchants, so the deposit won't go through and the bonus can't be triggered. That is the point of the block, and it is one of the most effective tools if you want to stop or cut back. Banks on the Gambling Commission's list of block providers include Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, Monzo, NatWest, Santander and Starling. Removing a block can take time on purpose. Our pages on bank gambling blocks and how to take a break from gambling explain the options.
Is a debit card or PayPal better for casino bonuses?
A debit card qualifies for more offers. At our partners, Coral and Ladbrokes exclude PayPal deposits from their welcome spins but accept most debit cards, although Coral excludes certain debit cards. PayPal can still be useful after the welcome offer, because it keeps your bank details away from the casino and pays out quickly where supported. Watch the limit of three active payment methods in a rolling 30 days at Coral and Ladbrokes if you plan to use both. See PayPal vs debit card and the PayPal casino bonus page.
