Skrill vs Neteller is a closer contest than most payment comparisons: both e-wallets belong to Paysafe, both are usually quick once a casino approves a payout, and both are shut out of several UK welcome offers. The real differences are which casinos list each one and how each fits your habits. Checked 20 October 2026.
Skrill and Neteller are sister brands: Paysafe has owned both since 2015.
Coral’s and Ladbrokes’ welcome offers exclude Skrill and Neteller deposits; check terms before you fund an account.
Casumo’s site says Skrill and Neteller withdrawals arrive instantly after approval; approval itself can take time.
Neither wallet can be loaded with a credit card for gambling in Great Britain (rule since 14 April 2020).

Skrill vs Neteller: the short answer for UK players
For most people the choice between Skrill and Neteller comes down to which one your casino supports, not which wallet is better in the abstract. Both are e-wallets run by the same parent company, both keep your bank details away from the casino, and both tend to land among the fastest withdrawal methods once a payout clears the operator’s review. Where they differ is in history, branding, extras and, most importantly, in how individual casinos treat them in their cashier and their bonus terms.
This page compares the two side by side using published facts only: the casinos’ own help pages, the Gambling Commission’s rules and the partner terms we checked on 5 October 2026. It sits within our wider set of casino comparisons, alongside method pages for Skrill and Neteller on their own.

Who owns Skrill and Neteller, and why it matters
Neteller was founded in 1999 and grew up processing payments for online gambling sites, which explains why so many casino cashiers still show its logo. Skrill began life on 27 July 2001 as Moneybookers, a UK-based online wallet; the rebrand to Skrill was announced in September 2011 and completed in 2013. In 2015 Optimal Payments, which already owned Neteller, bought the Skrill Group for about €1.1 billion and renamed itself Paysafe in November that year. Paysafe also owns paysafecard, the prepaid voucher brand.
The shared ownership has practical effects. Fee structures, loyalty tiers and verification flows look similar because they come from the same organisation. Casinos also tend to treat the two identically in their terms: when an operator excludes one from a promotion, it nearly always excludes the other. That is why the Ladbrokes welcome terms list Skrill, Neteller and Moneybookers together, and why Coral’s list names both wallets alongside paysafecard and PayPal.
How Skrill and Neteller work at online casinos
An e-wallet sits between your bank and the casino. You open a wallet account, verify your identity with the wallet provider, load money into it from a bank account or debit card, and then pay the casino from the wallet balance. The casino sees the wallet account, not your bank details. When you withdraw, the money goes back to the wallet first; moving it on to your bank is a second step that you control.
Casinos operate a closed-loop policy, so winnings normally go back to the method you deposited with. If you deposit £50 with Skrill, expect your next withdrawal to be routed to the same Skrill account, at least up to the amount deposited. Switching to Neteller for the payout usually isn’t possible unless the cashier offers it, so choose your wallet before the first deposit rather than after a win.
Funding the wallet: the UK credit card rule
Since 14 April 2020, licensed operators in Great Britain have not been allowed to accept gambling payments by credit card. The Gambling Commission’s guide to gambling with a credit card (opens in a new tab) explains that this includes credit card money moved through a payment service, and operators that accept e-wallets such as Skrill should make sure the funds were not loaded from a credit card. In practice, keep only a debit card or bank account attached to any wallet you use for gambling. Our credit card ban explainer and the page on the credit card funded e-wallet rule cover the detail.
How to deposit with Skrill or Neteller at a UK casino
The flow is almost identical for both wallets. The steps below assume the casino lists your wallet in its cashier; if it doesn’t, no workaround is available and you should pick another method. Our general guide on how to deposit at an online casino covers the cashier screens in more depth.
Open and verify your Skrill or Neteller account, and link a debit card or bank account (never a credit card).
Load the wallet with the amount you plan to spend, ideally no more than your gambling budget for the period.
At the casino, set your deposit limit when prompted; since 31 October 2025 casinos must ask before your first deposit.
Read the welcome offer terms and check whether e-wallet deposits qualify before you pay.
Choose Skrill or Neteller in the casino cashier, enter the amount and log in to the wallet when redirected.
Approve the payment; the money normally shows in your casino balance within moments.
Two numbers are worth checking before step five. The first is the casino’s minimum deposit: Casumo’s homepage says £10 for all payment methods, while its welcome bonus needs £20. The second is any per-deposit cap; Coral and Ladbrokes, for example, cap a single UK deposit at £2,000 across methods.
Skrill vs Neteller withdrawal speed at UK casinos
Withdrawal speed has two parts. The casino first reviews and approves the request; only then does the payment travel to your wallet. E-wallets shine in the second part, because the transfer between two online accounts is quick. The first part depends entirely on the operator, its checks and whether your account is fully verified. No UK rule sets a maximum processing time, so the only reliable figures are the ones casinos publish themselves.

Casumo’s homepage (opens in a new tab) says withdrawals are reviewed and processed within a matter of hours and that Skrill and Neteller payouts arrive instantly after approval; its withdrawal policy adds that requests are approved or denied within three days. 10bet’s withdrawal help page (opens in a new tab) groups e-wallets together at up to two business days. So, on these published figures, there is no difference between the two wallets at the same casino; the casino matters far more than the wallet. A separate explainer on pending withdrawals explains what happens while a request sits in review.
Since 31 October 2021, casinos have not been allowed to let you cancel a withdrawal and play the money again, so a pending e-wallet payout stays pending; see the reverse withdrawal ban for the rule.
Skrill and Neteller bonus exclusions in UK welcome offers
This is where e-wallet users lose out most often. Operators exclude e-wallets from many promotions, partly because wallets have historically been linked with bonus abuse and multiple accounts. The table below sets out what each partner’s key terms say, as checked on 5 October 2026. All offers are for new customers aged 18+, and full terms apply.

A worked example shows the cost of getting this wrong. Say you open a Ladbrokes account and deposit £20 with Skrill, then play £10 on slots. Under the published terms that deposit does not qualify, so the daily 50 spins at 10p each, worth £5 a day and up to £50 over ten days, never arrive. Depositing the same £20 with an eligible debit card would have qualified. Coral and Ladbrokes each have a page on Coral’s excluded payment methods and Ladbrokes’ excluded payment methods, and our answer to why PayPal can’t be used for a bonus explains the logic, which applies to Skrill and Neteller too.
Fees: what can cost you money with either wallet
Fees come from two places: the casino and the wallet. On the casino side, Coral’s and Ladbrokes’ help centres both state that they charge no withdrawal fees. Casumo’s withdrawal policy sets a £3 fee on withdrawals below £10 and none at £10 or more. 10bet does not publish a fee position on the help page we checked, so look in the cashier.
On the wallet side, both Skrill and Neteller publish their own fee schedules, which typically cover moving money out to a bank, currency conversion and inactivity. These change from time to time, so read the current fee page on the provider’s site before you rely on a wallet; we don’t quote figures we can’t date. Our wider guide to casino payment fees explains the usual charge points.
Worked example: the small-withdrawal trap
Imagine £8 left in a Casumo balance. Withdrawing it to Skrill triggers the £3 fee, so £5 reaches the wallet, a loss of 37.5% of the amount. Withdrawing £10 or more avoids the casino fee entirely. If your wallet then charges to move money to your bank, a single larger transfer is usually cheaper than several small ones. Neither of these points changes between Skrill and Neteller; they depend on the casino and the wallet’s fee table.
UK rules that apply to Skrill and Neteller casino payments
E-wallets don’t sit outside the UK’s safer gambling framework. The same rules apply as for any other method, and a few are worth knowing because wallets make it easy to move money quickly.
Deposit limit prompt (since 31 October 2025): casinos must ask you to set a financial limit before your first deposit, and decreases take effect immediately. See deposit limit rules.
Financial vulnerability checks (since 28 February 2025): when net deposits pass £150 in a rolling 30 days, operators run a public-record check. Credit-reference financial risk assessments were only piloted and are not live; our page on affordability checks explains the difference.
Reverse withdrawals (banned since 31 October 2021): you can’t cancel a payout to keep playing.
Identity checks: casinos must verify your age and identity before you deposit, and they can’t demand at withdrawal documents they could have asked for earlier.
Because the wallet and the casino each verify you separately, expect two sets of checks. Getting both done before you deposit avoids a payout stalling later.
Is Skrill or Neteller safer for casino payments?
There is little to separate them on safety, because the same group runs both. The main benefit of either is that the casino never holds your card or bank details, so a breach at the casino exposes less. Both offer two-factor sign-in, and turning it on is the single most useful step you can take. The casino account security guide covers passwords and sign-in alerts.
Two cautions apply to both. E-wallet balances are e-money, which providers must safeguard but which is not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme in the way a bank deposit is, so avoid leaving large sums sitting in a wallet. And a wallet makes moving money fast, which some people find makes spending harder to track. If that sounds familiar, your bank’s gambling block can stop transfers to gambling merchants; the Commission’s page on blocking gambling payments (opens in a new tab) lists banks that offer one.
Skrill or Neteller: which suits which casino player
Since the published casino timings and fees are the same for both wallets at any one site, the decision rests on habits and on what your casino lists.

Alternatives when your offer excludes e-wallets
If you want a welcome offer that bars e-wallets, a debit card is the usual qualifying method, though Coral also excludes certain debit cards, so read the list. Pay by Bank is another route at Coral and Ladbrokes, where the help centres list it for deposits and withdrawals. If you’re weighing wallets against cards more generally, our PayPal vs debit card comparison covers the same trade-offs from another angle, and MuchBetter is a smaller wallet that Casumo lists for withdrawals.
Where to use Skrill or Neteller: closest partner matches
None of our partners runs an offer built around Skrill or Neteller. The two below are the closest fits because their cashiers are reported to list the wallets. Casumo’s welcome offer, 18+ and opt-in, is a 50% bonus up to £100 on a first deposit of at least £20, with the bonus wagered 10x within 7 days and a £5 maximum bet while it is active; game, play and payment restrictions apply, so confirm wallet eligibility first. See the latest Casumo offer and Casumo payment methods.
10bet’s offer, for new UK customers aged 18+, is a 100% match up to £25 on a first deposit made within 7 days of choosing the casino welcome bonus; wager the bonus 10x on slots within 3 days, with bonus winnings capped at £1,000. Our 10bet payment methods page explains what is and isn’t confirmed. Remember that gambling costs money and losses are likely over time; set a limit you’re comfortable with before you deposit.
Casumo is the closest match because its own site lists Skrill deposits and both Skrill and Neteller withdrawals; 10bet is listed with both wallets in a third-party review. Neither offer is e-wallet specific, so check the payment terms before depositing. 18+, T&Cs apply.

Frequently asked questions
Is Skrill or Neteller better for online casinos?
Neither is better across the board, because Paysafe owns both and casinos usually treat them the same way. The deciding factor is which wallet your casino lists for both deposits and withdrawals. At Casumo, for example, Skrill is listed for both, while Neteller is listed only for withdrawals. Published payout times at any one casino are identical for the two wallets, so pick the one your site supports and that you already have verified. See our Skrill casino page and Neteller casino page for method detail.
Are Skrill and Neteller the same company?
Yes, both are owned by Paysafe. Neteller started in 1999 and was already part of Optimal Payments when that company bought the Skrill Group in 2015 for about €1.1 billion; Optimal Payments then renamed itself Paysafe in November 2015. The brands still run as separate wallets with their own accounts, apps and fee tables, so you need a separate sign-up and verification for each. Paysafe also owns paysafecard. Our e-wallet casinos guide explains how wallets fit into a casino cashier.
Can I get a casino welcome bonus with Skrill or Neteller?
Sometimes, but several UK offers exclude them. Coral’s and Ladbrokes’ welcome offers, checked on 5 October 2026, both list Skrill and Neteller among the methods that don’t qualify. Casumo says payment restrictions apply, so check its full terms. The key terms we hold for 10bet and PlayOJO name no payment exclusions, but read the full terms before depositing. Using a qualifying debit card is the safest route. Our pages on Coral’s excluded methods and Ladbrokes’ excluded methods list them. 18+, terms apply.
How long do Skrill withdrawals take at UK casinos?
Usually the transfer itself is quick, but the casino’s approval comes first and sets the pace. Casumo’s site says requests are reviewed within hours and Skrill payouts arrive instantly after approval, while its policy allows up to three days for a decision. 10bet’s help centre says e-wallets take up to two business days. Neither figure is a promise, and verification gaps cause most delays. Our guide on how long casino withdrawals take compares methods, and Casumo withdrawal time has the detail for that brand.
Can I fund Skrill or Neteller with a credit card to gamble?
No, not for gambling at a casino licensed in Great Britain. Since 14 April 2020, operators may not accept gambling payments by credit card, including credit card money passed through a payment service. The Commission expects casinos that accept e-wallets to make sure wallet money did not come from a credit card. Link only a debit card or bank account to any wallet you use with a casino. Our explainers on the credit card ban and the e-wallet credit card rule set out the wording and dates.
Why do casinos exclude Skrill and Neteller from bonuses?
Casinos don’t always explain, but the usual reason is that e-wallets have historically been linked with bonus abuse, such as one person opening several accounts and funding them through different wallets. Excluding wallets makes it easier for an operator to link a bonus to a verified card or bank account. Whatever the reason, the terms bind you, so a wallet deposit at an excluding casino won’t trigger the offer. The bonus abuse explainer covers what casinos look for, and how to read bonus terms shows where exclusions sit.
Do Coral and Ladbrokes accept Skrill or Neteller?
Their help centres don’t list either wallet. Coral’s and Ladbrokes’ payment pages name Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, PayPal, Pay by Bank, Apple Pay, Google Pay and paysafecard, with Fast Bank Transfer for withdrawals only. A Neteller logo appears in Coral’s site footer, so the cashier may show options the help pages don’t, and the welcome terms of both brands mention the wallets only to exclude them. Check the cashier after you log in. Our Coral payment methods and Ladbrokes payment methods pages track what is confirmed.
Are there fees for using Skrill or Neteller at a casino?
Possibly, from either the casino or the wallet. Coral and Ladbrokes state that they charge no withdrawal fees, while Casumo charges £3 on withdrawals below £10. 10bet doesn’t publish its position on the help page we checked. The wallets themselves publish fee schedules that can cover bank transfers out, currency conversion and inactivity; check the provider’s current fee page because figures change. Withdrawing larger amounts less often usually keeps fees down. The casino payment fees guide and the answer to are casino withdrawals free go further.
Is it safe to use Skrill or Neteller for gambling in the UK?
Yes, as long as you use them with a UK-licensed casino and secure your wallet account. The main safety benefit is that the casino never stores your card or bank details. Turn on two-factor sign-in for the wallet and the casino. Keep balances modest, because e-money is safeguarded by the provider but not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme like a bank deposit. Check the casino on the Gambling Commission register first; our guide on how to check a casino licence shows how, and casino account security covers sign-in protection.
Can I withdraw to Neteller if I deposited with Skrill?
Usually not, because casinos run a closed-loop policy that returns money to the method you deposited with, at least up to the amount deposited. If you paid in with Skrill, the casino will normally send your withdrawal back to that same Skrill account. Some cashiers allow a different route for winnings above your deposits, but that depends on the operator and its verification checks. Decide on one wallet before your first deposit. Our closed loop glossary entry and the guide on how to withdraw casino winnings explain the rule in practice.
