Who operates NetBet casino?

Netbet Enterprises Limited runs NetBet for players in Great Britain. The company's register entry, account 39170 (opens in a new tab), gives its head office as The Emporium in Msida, Malta. As the licence holder, it's responsible for your account, your money, your data and any complaint you raise.

NetBet is an older brand than many UK casinos. Its website copyright dates from 2001, but it came under Gambling Commission licensing for British customers in November–December 2017. Since November 2014, any operator offering remote gambling to British customers has needed a Commission licence, wherever the company is based.

NetBet isn't a Latest Casinos partner. We don't rate or link to it, and we don't describe its welcome offer. Everything here comes from the register and the Commission's published announcement.

Because NetBet offers betting as well as casino games, the company needs more than one licence activity. That's normal for a multi-product site. What it means in practice is that one company answers to the Commission for everything you do in the account, whether you place a bet or spin a slot. Our page on the remote casino licence explains what the casino activity requires.

NetBet products and the UK rules for each

NetBet's site is split into casino, Vegas (its slots-focused section), live casino, poker, sports betting and lottery. Each product falls under its own set of rules:

NetBet product areas and key UK rules
Product areaRules that applyFurther reading
Casino and Vegas (slots)£5 per spin (25+), £2 (18–24); 2.5-second minimum spin; no autoplayUK slot rules
Table games (RNG)At least 5 seconds per game cycle; no autoplayTable game speed rules
Live casinoReal-time dealer games; net position and time shownLive casino
PokerPeer-to-peer poker is excluded from the 5-second rule; auto-posting blinds still allowedGame design rules
Sports bettingSeparate product for promotions and marketing consentCross-selling rules

A multi-product account is convenient, but it also means you'll be asked which products you're happy to receive marketing about. Since 1 May 2025, consent is given separately for casino, betting and bingo, and for each channel. Our guide on opting out of casino marketing shows how to change those settings later.

The November 2025 NetBet settlement

On 5 November 2025 the Gambling Commission announced that Netbet Enterprises Limited would pay £650,000 (opens in a new tab) for regulatory failures at netbet.co.uk. The money goes to socially responsible causes, and the company must also commission an independent audit of its policies, procedures and controls. The Commission's findings covered three areas:

  • Anti-money laundering: over-reliance on financial triggers, customers spending well beyond their net income without enough scrutiny, concerning behaviour judged low risk, and a risk assessment missing key risks such as high-stakes gambling and third-party relationships.
  • Social responsibility: customer interaction systems didn't do enough to reduce harm. Indicators such as overnight play, rapid deposits, exhausted limits and escalating play weren't flagged promptly and were often caught only by manual review.
  • Reporting: inaccurate information in regulatory returns.

A settlement is an agreed outcome rather than a penalty imposed after a contested process, but both appear in the Commission's enforcement record. It reflects the operator's systems at the time and doesn't describe how the site runs today. For context with other cases, see our page on Gambling Commission fines.

What the NetBet case tells players about harm checks

The settlement lists the kinds of behaviour every UK operator is expected to spot. Knowing them helps you understand why a casino might contact you, pause your account or ask questions:

  • Playing through the night, especially on several nights in a row.
  • Making several deposits in a short period, particularly after losses.
  • Hitting your own deposit limit and trying to raise it.
  • Rapidly increasing stakes or time spent playing.

When those signs appear, operators should interact with you, and in some cases restrict marketing or bonuses. It isn't a punishment; it's a licence requirement. Our explainers on customer interaction rules and signs of problem gambling set out what to expect and when to seek support.

NetBet and the 2026 mixed-product rules

Sites that combine betting and casino are the ones most affected by the mixed-product ban that started on 19 January 2026. Before then, an offer might say ‘bet £10 on football, get 50 casino spins’. That kind of cross-product incentive is no longer allowed: a promotion must stick to one product.

Worked example. Under today's rules, a betting promotion and a casino promotion at a multi-product site run separately. If a casino bonus of £20 carries wagering, it can need at most £200 of casino play (10x). Nothing you do in the sportsbook can count towards that, and nothing in the casino can unlock a betting reward. Our pages on the mixed-product promotions ban and the 10x wagering cap give more examples.

How to check NetBet's licence

  1. Look at the footer of the NetBet site and note the company name and account number.
  2. Search the Commission's public register for account 39170.
  3. Confirm the name reads Netbet Enterprises Limited and the status is Active.
  4. Check the domain names list includes the address you're using.
  5. Open the regulatory actions section and read any entries in full.
  6. Record the date you checked.

Safer gambling and complaints at NetBet

As a licensee, Netbet Enterprises Limited must offer deposit limits, time-outs, reality checks and self-exclusion, and must take part in GAMSTOP (opens in a new tab), which blocks all GB-licensed online gambling for a period you choose. Free, confidential support is available from the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133, run by GamCare and open 24/7.

Complaints go to NetBet first. If the operator hasn't resolved yours within eight weeks, it must refer you to an independent ADR provider, free of charge. Our complaints guide lists what to include and how to escalate.

How NetBet compares as a type of site

NetBet is a multi-product, single-brand operator: we haven't verified any sister brands on account 39170. Compared with a casino-only site, that model brings:

Advantages

  • Casino, poker, sports and lottery in one account and one balance
  • UK-licensed since 2017 under the same company
  • Independent audit required by the 2025 settlement

Drawbacks

  • Promotions now split by product, so offers may feel narrower than before 2026
  • More marketing preferences to manage across products
  • A regulatory settlement on record from November 2025

Frequently asked questions

Who owns NetBet casino?

NetBet is operated in Great Britain by Netbet Enterprises Limited, which holds UK Gambling Commission account 39170 and has its head office at The Emporium, Msida, Malta. That company is the licence holder and the business responsible for your account, funds and any complaint. The NetBet website's copyright dates from 2001, while its UK licences were granted in November–December 2017. To confirm the details, follow our guide on how to check a casino licence, and for other operators see our brands A–Z.

Is NetBet licensed in the UK?

Yes. Netbet Enterprises Limited's account 39170 was active on the Gambling Commission register when we checked on 20 October 2026, and it has held UK licences since late 2017. A licence means NetBet must verify your age before play, offer safer gambling tools, take part in GAMSTOP and follow UK rules on fair terms. It isn't a judgement on quality. Our page on what UKGC licensed means explains the protections, and are online casinos safe in the UK covers the wider picture.

Why did NetBet pay £650,000?

The Gambling Commission announced on 5 November 2025 that Netbet Enterprises Limited would pay £650,000 for anti-money laundering and social responsibility failures at netbet.co.uk. Findings included over-reliance on financial triggers, harm indicators such as overnight play and rapid deposits not being flagged promptly, and inaccurate information in regulatory returns. The money goes to socially responsible causes, and the company must commission an independent audit. Our Gambling Commission fines page compares it with other cases, and source of funds checks explains the AML side.

Does NetBet have sister sites?

We haven't verified any sister brands on Netbet Enterprises Limited's UK licence, so we don't list any. You can check yourself by opening account 39170 on the Gambling Commission register and reading the domain names tab, which shows every domain the company has declared. NetBet's own site covers several products, including casino, poker and sports, which is why it may look like several sites in one. Our guides to casino sister sites and independent casinos explain both set-ups.

Can I use a sports bet to unlock casino spins at NetBet?

No. Since 19 January 2026 UK operators can't offer incentives that combine more than one gambling product, so a sports bet can't unlock casino spins, and casino play can't unlock a free bet. This applies to every licensed multi-product site, not just NetBet. Each promotion must stay within one product, and any wagering is capped at 10x the bonus. The mixed-product promotions ban page explains the rule, and our guide to how casino promotions work shows what offers look like now.

Do UK slot stake limits apply in NetBet Vegas?

Yes. NetBet's Vegas section is slots-focused, and every online slot at a UK-licensed casino is capped at £5 per spin for players aged 25 and over (since 9 April 2025) and £2 per spin for 18–24-year-olds (since 21 May 2025). Slots must also take at least 2.5 seconds per spin and can't offer autoplay or turbo modes. These rules apply equally across all UK brands. Our pages on the £5 slot stake limit and the autoplay ban explain the details.

Why might NetBet contact me about my gambling?

UK operators must watch for signs of harm and interact with customers who show them. The NetBet settlement listed the kinds of signs the Commission expects to be flagged: overnight play, rapid repeat deposits, exhausted deposit limits and escalating stakes. If you're contacted, it's a licence requirement rather than an accusation, and it may come with suggested limits or a pause on marketing. Our customer interaction rules page explains the duty, and how to take a break from gambling covers practical options.

How do I complain about NetBet?

Send your complaint to NetBet using the procedure in its terms, and keep dates, screenshots and transaction details. Netbet Enterprises Limited has eight weeks to resolve it. If it doesn't, it must refer you to an independent alternative dispute resolution provider, which is free for you to use. The Gambling Commission doesn't handle individual complaints but does want to hear about possible rule breaches. Our complaints and ADR explainer and the guide on what to do if a casino won't pay explain each stage.

Why doesn't Latest Casinos rate NetBet?

Only five licensed casinos are rated and promoted here, the ones we partner with: Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO, Casumo and 10bet. NetBet isn't one of them, so we publish a neutral profile based on the register and the Commission's announcements. We don't score it, criticise it or describe its current welcome offer, because we can't keep those checked and dated. Our advertiser disclosure explains the commercial side, and how we rate describes how partner reviews are put together.
