Red Tiger casino games

Red Tiger casino games are slots from a studio founded in 2014, best known for Daily Drop jackpots that must pay out within a set time and for Megaways remakes of familiar titles. Since December 2020 Red Tiger has been part of Evolution, alongside NetEnt. Here's how its jackpots and maths work, which games have verified figures, and how to find them in a UK lobby.

Key takeaways

  • Red Tiger was founded in 2014, bought by NetEnt in September 2019 (initial £200m) and has sat inside Evolution since December 2020.
  • Its signature is the Daily Drop jackpot network: pots that must drop before a deadline, shown in a panel on each game.
  • Published RTPs on its slots range widely, from 94.76% to 96.24% on titles we hold figures for, and lower versions exist.
  • Sister studios include NetEnt, Big Time Gaming and Nolimit City, so many lobbies group them together.

Red Tiger casino games in brief

Red Tiger started in 2014 and, by the time it was sold, ran operations in Malta, the Isle of Man and Bulgaria. In September 2019 NetEnt bought the studio for an initial £200 million, and in December 2020 NetEnt itself became part of Evolution, the live casino specialist. Red Tiger therefore now shares a parent with NetEnt, Big Time Gaming and Nolimit City.

Despite the ownership changes, the brand kept its own identity. Red Tiger casino games tend to be colourful, Asian-influenced or adventure-themed video slots with a jackpot panel bolted onto the top of the screen. That panel is the giveaway: if you see a set of jackpot counters with a 'must drop' timer, you are very likely looking at a Red Tiger game.

For context on how studios, aggregators and casinos fit together, our guide to casino software providers is a good starting point, and the providers hub lists every studio profile on the site.

How Red Tiger Daily Drop jackpots work

Daily Drop jackpots are Red Tiger's best-known feature. They are a form of must-drop jackpot: instead of growing until someone hits it by chance, at least one pot is set to pay out before a deadline. The network usually combines a pot that must drop within each hour, one that must drop before a fixed time each day, and a larger tier that keeps growing. The exact tiers, deadlines and how a winner is chosen appear in the jackpot panel and help screen of each game, and they can differ between casinos.

A small part of every eligible stake feeds the pots. That contribution comes out of the game's overall return, which is why jackpot versions of a slot sometimes show a slightly different RTP split between base game and jackpot.

A worked example with made-up numbers

Imagine an hourly pot that must drop before it reaches £200 and currently shows £190. Many players see that as 'due', but the extra £10 has to be fed by stakes from everyone playing across the network. If 0.5% of each stake goes into the pot, £10 of growth needs £2,000 of total stakes. Your chance of being the one who triggers the drop depends on your share of those stakes. If you stake 50p a spin for 40 spins, that is £20, or 1% of the £2,000. Under a typical contribution-weighted design, your chance of winning the £200 would be roughly 1%, while the expected cost of your £20 at a 95% RTP is about £1.

The figures above are invented for illustration. Real contribution rates and drop rules are set per game and shown in the help screen. A jackpot near its deadline doesn't make losing spins any less likely.

Our guides to progressive jackpots and jackpot slots compare must-drop pots with traditional progressives and fixed prizes.

Megaways remakes and other Red Tiger mechanics

Red Tiger produced several Megaways versions of existing games, using the licensed reel engine in which each reel shows a random number of symbols per spin and the number of ways to win changes every time. Gonzo's Quest Megaways, a remake of a NetEnt classic, and Piggy Riches Megaways are two examples. On a six-reel Megaways game with up to seven symbols per reel, the maximum is 7 × 7 × 7 × 7 × 7 × 7 = 117,649 ways.

Beyond Megaways, Red Tiger slots lean on a few recurring ideas:

  • Mystery or transforming symbols that reveal the same symbol across the reels, the core of Mystery Reels.
  • Expanding reel sets, such as Pirates' Plenty, which grows from 5×3 to 6×3.
  • Pay-anywhere symbols alongside paylines, as in Cash Volt.
  • Cascades in the Megaways remakes, where winning symbols drop away and new ones fall in; see cascading reels.

For a deeper look at the engine itself, our Megaways slots page explains how ways are counted and why the volatility tends to be high.

Best-known Red Tiger casino games with verified figures

All figures below come from our verified slot records. Published RTPs are default or listed figures, and several of these games are supplied in lower versions, so always read the info screen at your casino.

The spread is the story here. Cash Volt is listed with versions from about 91% to 96%, a five-point gap that changes the expected cost of play a great deal. That is not unusual for jackpot-linked studios, and it is why the info screen matters more than any review figure.

Why RTP versions matter for Red Tiger slots

Studios often supply a game at several RTP settings and let each casino pick one. For a studio with a wide catalogue of jackpot games, the range can be broad. Here's what that means in pounds, using Cash Volt's reported range and a session of 200 spins at £1, or £200 of total stakes.

Expected cost of £200 in stakes at different RTP settings
RTP settingExpected returnExpected costCost per 100 spins at £1
91%£182£18£9
94.78%£189.56£10.44£5.22
96%£192£8£4

None of these numbers predicts a single session, which can end well above or below them. They describe the average over a very long run. Still, choosing the 96% version over the 91% one more than halves the expected cost. Our page on how to check slot RTP shows where the figure sits in most game menus, and the RTP display rules page covers what casinos must tell you.

Red Tiger in the Evolution group

Since December 2020, Red Tiger has been one of several slot brands owned by Evolution, whose own site at evolution.com (opens in a new tab) lists its live casino, game show and slot studios. Ownership by the same group means shared distribution: a UK casino that signs with Evolution can often switch on Red Tiger, NetEnt and Big Time Gaming content through the same connection.

Group-level regulatory news can affect the whole family. In July 2026 the Gambling Commission announced that Evolution Malta Holding Limited would pay £4.75 million (opens in a new tab) after the group's games appeared on unlicensed sites that were reachable from Great Britain. The case was about where games ended up rather than about game fairness, and the Commission's news release has the detail. It illustrates one reason the Commission licenses suppliers as well as casinos.

UK rules that apply to Red Tiger slots

Every Red Tiger slot supplied to British players follows the same Gambling Commission rules as other online slots:

  • Stake caps of £5 per spin for players aged 25 and over and £2 per spin for those aged 18–24; see the £5 slot stake limit.
  • No autoplay, no turbo or slam-stop, and a minimum of 2.5 seconds per spin since 31 October 2021.
  • No sounds or animations celebrating a return that is equal to or less than your stake, a rule covered on our losses disguised as wins page.
  • Net position and session time shown on screen.

The stake cap also shapes jackpot play. A game that lets jackpot chances rise with stake size can't be pushed above £5 a spin, so a 25-year-old and a 45-year-old face the same maximum. The Commission's stake limit guidance (opens in a new tab) explains how a game cycle is defined for this purpose.

Is Red Tiger licensed in the UK?

Any business that makes or supplies gambling software for British customers needs a Gambling Commission licence. We haven't verified the current account number for the Red Tiger entity itself, so rather than quote one we suggest checking directly: search 'Red Tiger' on the Commission's public register (opens in a new tab) and look at the status and activities listed. If the studio's games appear at a UK-licensed casino, that casino is also responsible for only offering approved games.

Our two-minute guide on how to check a casino licence uses the same register and works for suppliers too.

How to find Red Tiger casino games at a UK casino

  1. Sign in and complete age and identity verification if you haven't already; UK casinos must do this before any play, including demos.
  2. Open the slots lobby and choose the providers or studios filter.
  3. Select Red Tiger. If the casino groups Evolution brands together, look for Red Tiger as a sub-option.
  4. To find jackpot games specifically, check for a 'Daily Drop' or 'Jackpots' category, which some lobbies offer.
  5. Open the game's help screen and read the RTP, the jackpot rules and the drop deadlines before you stake anything.
  6. Choose a stake within your £5 or £2 cap and consider setting a session reminder from your account settings.

Where to play Red Tiger casino games: current partner offers

Lobbies change, so we don't claim any partner carries a particular Red Tiger title. The three UKGC-licensed casinos below had offers checked on 5 October 2026. New players at Ladbrokes who are 18+ and spend £10 on slots receive 50 free spins a day for 10 days, up to 500 at 10p each, on selected games and with no wagering; each day's spins must be claimed before 23:59 and last 7 days.

At Coral, depositing and betting £10 on slots unlocks 100 free spins at 10p on selected games, with 48 hours to accept and 7 days to use them, and no wagering on winnings. PlayOJO gives 80 no-wagering spins on Big Bass Bonanza after a £10 first deposit, excluding Northern Ireland. Some payment methods don't qualify for the Coral and Ladbrokes offers; terms apply to all three. See our latest free spins offers for the full comparison.

No partner offer is limited to Red Tiger slots. Coral and Ladbrokes award 10p spins on selected games after a £10 slots spend, while PlayOJO's 80 spins are on Big Bass Bonanza; 18+, terms apply.

Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited (Entain). If you already hold an account with one Entain brand, you may not be able to open a new account with another; check the terms before signing up.

Frequently asked questions

Who owns Red Tiger?

Red Tiger is owned by Evolution, which became its parent in December 2020 when it completed the takeover of NetEnt. NetEnt had bought Red Tiger in September 2019 for an initial £200 million. The studio still releases games under its own name, and its sister brands in the group include NetEnt, Big Time Gaming and Nolimit City. Many UK lobbies group these studios together because they arrive through the same supply connection. Our profiles of Evolution and Big Time Gaming explain the other parts of the family.

What is a Red Tiger Daily Drop jackpot?

A Daily Drop jackpot is a must-drop prize pot that has to pay out before a deadline instead of waiting for a random hit. Red Tiger's network typically runs one pot that must drop within the hour, one that must drop by a set time each day, and a larger growing tier. A small share of every eligible stake funds the pots. The exact rules, including how a winner is picked, sit in each game's help screen. The jackpot doesn't change the house edge. See must-drop jackpots and progressive jackpots explained.

Is a Daily Drop jackpot more likely to pay when it is close to the deadline?

The pot is certain to drop by the deadline, but that doesn't make your own spins more likely to win it. Your chance depends on how much of the network's stake you contribute in the remaining time, and many other players may be feeding the same pot. Meanwhile, every spin still carries the game's normal house edge. Chasing a jackpot near its deadline by raising stakes or playing longer is a common way to overspend. Read our guide to the gambler's fallacy and setting a gambling budget before planning a session around a timer.

What is the RTP of Red Tiger slots?

It varies by game and version. Among the titles we hold verified figures for, Mystery Reels is listed at 96.24% and Dynamite Riches at 94.76%, while Cash Volt has reported versions from about 91% to 96%. Casinos choose which version to run, so the same slot can carry a different RTP at two sites. The help or info screen inside the game shows the figure that applies to you. For context, what is a good RTP and our RTP glossary entry explain what the percentage means over the long run.

Does Red Tiger make Megaways slots?

Yes. Red Tiger has released several Megaways games, including Gonzo's Quest Megaways and Piggy Riches Megaways, both from 2020. These use the licensed Megaways reel engine, where each of six reels shows a random number of symbols and the number of ways to win changes each spin, up to 117,649. Gonzo's Quest Megaways is listed at 95.77% RTP with a 21,000× stake maximum. Megaways games are usually high volatility, so wins can be infrequent. Our Megaways slots page and the ways to win glossary entry explain the mechanics.

Is Red Tiger the same as NetEnt?

No, they are separate studios with their own catalogues, but they share a parent company. NetEnt bought Red Tiger in 2019, and Evolution then acquired NetEnt in December 2020, so both now sit within the Evolution group. You can sometimes see the link in the games: Gonzo's Quest Megaways, for example, is a Red Tiger remake of a NetEnt original. Lobby filters normally list the two studios separately. See our NetEnt profile for its own history and best-known games, and the providers hub for the full list.

Can I play Red Tiger slots for free?

You can play demo versions at UK-licensed casinos only after your age has been verified, a rule in place since May 2019. That means signing up and passing checks before any free play. Demo mode uses the same maths but no money, and jackpot panels in demos don't pay real prizes. Free spins from a welcome offer are different: they need a qualifying deposit or bet and come with terms such as a spin value and expiry. Read the free-to-play demo rules and what is the catch with free spins.

What is the most I can stake on a Red Tiger slot in the UK?

The cap is £5 per spin if you are 25 or over, and £2 per spin if you are aged 18 to 24. These limits have applied to all online slots at UK-licensed casinos since 9 April 2025 and 21 May 2025. They also cover any extra stake taken within the same game cycle. For jackpot slots where higher stakes can raise jackpot chances, the cap still applies in full. The details and worked examples are on our pages for the £2 slot stake limit and our latest slot rules summary.

Are Red Tiger games fair?

Games offered at UK-licensed casinos have to meet the Gambling Commission's technical standards, including independent testing of the random number generator and the game's maths before release. Fair in this sense means the outcomes are random and the game pays as its rules describe. It does not mean the odds favour you: each slot has a house edge built in, usually several per cent. Jackpot features don't change that. Our explainers on how casino games are tested and how do I know if a slot is fair set out the checks.

Why can't I find a Red Tiger game I played before?

Each casino decides which games to offer, and catalogues change as licences, contracts and game versions are updated. A title may also be withdrawn from the British market, or exist only at certain sites. Try searching the game name directly, then check the providers filter under both Red Tiger and Evolution. If you played it on a site that wasn't licensed in Britain, it may never have been supplied here. Our guides to how to spot a fake casino and offshore casinos explain why that distinction matters.
