Debit Mastercard works at Coral, Ladbrokes, Casumo and 10bet; Mastercard credit cards have been banned for gambling since 14 April 2020.

Mastercard casinos UK: what you need to know first
Debit Mastercard is accepted across the UK-licensed casino market, including at four of our five partners, where it is listed in the help centre or our verified fact files. You can deposit instantly, and withdrawals usually go back to the same card. The thing to understand before you choose Mastercard over Visa is speed: our partners publish a fast push-to-card route only for Visa, so a Mastercard payout follows the casino’s ordinary card timescale.
Many app-based banks, including Monzo and Starling, issue Debit Mastercards, which makes this the default card for a lot of younger adult players. The general rules for cards, including closed-loop payouts and declines, sit on our debit card casinos page, and every alternative is laid out on the payments hub.

Mastercard has been retiring the Maestro brand across Europe, and many UK banks have already swapped Maestro cards for Debit Mastercards. If yours has been replaced, add the new card in the cashier; an expired Maestro can still matter for withdrawals, because the closed-loop rule may want to repay it first, in which case support will usually move the payout to your bank account after a check.
Credit cards are covered by licence condition 6.1.2 and our credit card ban explainer. The Commission also expects e-wallet providers’ funds to be checked so a Mastercard credit card can’t be laundered into a deposit through a wallet: see the e-wallet credit card rule.

Sign up with your real name, address and date of birth so the casino’s age and identity check can pass first time.
Set the financial limit the casino asks for before your first deposit; you can lower it later with immediate effect.
In the cashier, choose Mastercard (some sites label it Debit Card) and enter the 16-digit number, expiry and security code.
Enter the amount, keeping in mind any minimum: Casumo’s is £10, and Casumo’s welcome offer needs £20.
Approve the payment in your bank’s app or with a one-time passcode.
Wait for the confirmation before opening a game, and note the transaction ID.
Our sign-up guide explains the checks in more depth, including when a casino might ask for a document.
How long Mastercard casino withdrawals take
A Mastercard payout passes through the casino’s review and then travels back as a card credit. Take a £60 withdrawal requested on a Monday morning. At Casumo, the policy says requests are approved or denied within three days and are often reviewed within hours; card payouts then take up to 2 days, so Wednesday is a realistic outside estimate if no documents are needed. At 10bet, debit card withdrawals take up to 2 business days. At Coral or Ladbrokes, the help centres give a range from instant to five banking days depending on the method, on top of approval.
Open the cashier and select Withdraw.
Choose your Mastercard; if it isn’t offered, the casino may need to repay a different deposit method first.
Enter the amount (at Casumo, £10 or more avoids the £3 small-withdrawal fee).
Confirm and respond quickly to any document request.
Track the status in your account history and look for the credit on your bank statement.
For deposits, there’s no practical difference: both are instant and both are accepted by every partner that publishes its methods. The gap opens up at withdrawal.

Mastercard casino bonuses: payment terms checked
A standard Debit Mastercard deposit is the kind most welcome offers are designed around. These are the terms of our three closest partner offers, last checked on 5 October 2026 (18+, new customers, terms apply).
Coral, 100 free spins: deposit and bet £10 on slots; spins are 10p each on selected games, must be accepted within 48 hours and used within 7 days; free spin winnings carry no wagering. Prepaid cards and certain debit cards are excluded.
Ladbrokes, up to 500 free spins: spend £10 on slots for 50 spins a day over 10 days at 10p, claimed by 23:59 daily and valid 7 days; no wagering. Prepaid cards are excluded.
Casumo, 50% up to £100: £20 minimum first deposit, opt-in required, 10x bonus wagering in 7 days, £5 max bet. Payment restrictions apply.
Worked example: depositing £60 with Mastercard at Casumo gives a £30 bonus. At 10x, that is £300 of wagering to complete within 7 days, and no stake above £5 while the bonus is active. Our wagering calculator guide shows the maths for other amounts.
Mastercard gambling blocks and spending controls
Card payments to casinos are coded as gambling, which lets banks block them. The Gambling Commission’s guide to blocking gambling payments with your bank (opens in a new tab) lists the banks that offer it; Monzo and Starling, both Debit Mastercard issuers, are on the list, and Monzo requires you to contact support to turn the block off.
A block works alongside the tools inside the casino: deposit limits, time-outs and GAMSTOP self-exclusion. Read our page on bank gambling blocks for how each type behaves.
Mastercard declined or payout missing? Fixes
Declined at deposit: check for a gambling block, an expired card, a card in someone else’s name, or a limit you set.
Payout not arrived: confirm the status shows paid, then allow the published card time (up to 2 business days at 10bet) before asking the casino for a reference your bank can trace.
Old Maestro on file: ask support to redirect the payout, usually to a bank account in your name.
Document request: send what is asked promptly; the Commission says a casino can’t confiscate funds just because you missed a time limit.

Best Mastercard casinos UK: where to play
Coral and Ladbrokes accept Debit Mastercard with no withdrawal fees, and their spin offers don’t carry wagering on winnings. Casumo publishes clear card payout times and adds a 50% match for players who prefer bonus funds. Treat any deposit as money spent on entertainment, because the house edge means you are more likely to lose than win over time. All offers are 18+ and terms apply.
Each of these lists Mastercard in its cashier. Prepaid Mastercards are excluded from the Coral and Ladbrokes offers, Coral also excludes certain debit cards, and Casumo applies payment restrictions. 18+, terms apply.
Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited (Entain). If you already hold an account with one Entain brand, you may not be able to open a new account with another; check the terms before signing up.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use Mastercard at UK online casinos?
Yes, Debit Mastercard is accepted at UK-licensed casinos, including Coral, Ladbrokes, Casumo and 10bet among our partners. It must be a debit card in your own name. Mastercard credit cards have been banned for gambling since 14 April 2020, and prepaid Mastercards are accepted only by some casinos and are excluded from some offers. Our how to choose an online casino guide covers what else to compare before signing up.
How long do Mastercard withdrawals take?
Usually up to two business days after the casino approves the request. Casumo quotes up to 2 days for cards, and 10bet up to 2 business days for debit cards. The two Entain brands give a range of instantly to five banking days depending on method, in addition to internal processing. Unlike Visa, our partners don’t publish a Mastercard fast-payout service. First withdrawals may take longer while checks are made. Compare times in our withdrawal times guide.
Is Mastercard slower than Visa for casino withdrawals?
At our partners it can be, because only Visa has a published fast-payout route. Visa Fast Funds is offered by Coral and Ladbrokes to eligible Visa cards, typically a couple of hours for approval and up to 4 hours to reach your bank. Mastercard payouts follow the ordinary card timeframe, which can mean a day or two. For deposits there’s no difference. Our Visa Fast Funds page explains how the faster route works and which cards qualify.
Does a Maestro card still work at casinos?
If your bank still issues Maestro, Coral and Ladbrokes list it in their help centres, so it should work there. Mastercard has been retiring Maestro across Europe, and many UK banks have replaced it with Debit Mastercard. If your Maestro has been swapped, add the new card and ask support how they will repay any earlier Maestro deposits, often by bank transfer in your name. The closed-loop glossary entry explains why the old card can still matter.
Can I use a prepaid Mastercard at UK casinos?
Some casinos accept prepaid Mastercards for deposits, but they are excluded from the Coral and Ladbrokes welcome offers and are often unsuitable for receiving withdrawals. If you use one, check how the casino will pay you back, as you may need to add a bank account. The card must still be in your name. Our prepaid cards page explains the trade-offs and the why can’t I use PayPal for the bonus page covers why some methods are excluded.
Are there fees for Mastercard casino payments?
Usually none from the casino. Both Entain sites say they charge no withdrawal fees, and card deposits are typically free. Casumo charges £3 if you withdraw less than £10, so withdrawing £10 or more avoids it. 10bet doesn’t publish withdrawal fees, so check its help centre. A Mastercard issued in another currency could attract your bank’s foreign transaction fee. See are casino withdrawals free? for a fuller list of possible charges.
Does Mastercard qualify for casino bonuses?
A standard Debit Mastercard usually does. Coral excludes certain debit cards and prepaid cards from its bet £10, get 100 free spins offer; Ladbrokes excludes prepaid cards from its up to 500 free spins offer; Casumo’s 50% match up to £100 says payment restrictions apply. All are for new customers aged 18+ and terms apply. Check the payment section of the terms before your qualifying deposit. Our first deposit bonus page explains common qualifying rules.
Why was my Mastercard declined at an online casino?
The usual cause is a gambling block on the card, especially with app banks such as Monzo and Starling, where blocks are easy to switch on. Other reasons include using a credit card, a card in another person’s name, an expired card, or a deposit limit you have reached. Coral and Ladbrokes also allow only three active payment methods per rolling 30 days for UK customers. Our deposit declined guide goes through each fix.
Can I use my Mastercard at a casino abroad?
You can use your card wherever it is accepted, but UK-licensed casinos generally restrict play to customers located in permitted regions and may block access from abroad. Using a VPN to get round that usually breaks the terms and can lead to winnings being withheld. If you are travelling, check the casino’s terms before depositing. Our playing casino games abroad guide explains what usually applies and the VPN question covers the risks.
Is it safe to use Mastercard at UK casinos?
Yes, at a casino licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. Payments are approved by your bank, card data is held by regulated processors, and the Commission’s rules on withdrawals and fair terms protect you. Check the licence first on the public register, and avoid sites that accept credit cards, as that alone suggests they aren’t licensed for Great Britain. Our how to spot a fake casino guide lists other warning signs.
