Casumo jackpots

Casumo jackpots are prize pots attached to certain slots in its 6,000+ game library: some fixed, some progressive and growing with every qualifying spin, some set to drop by a deadline or cap. Which jackpot games Casumo runs changes over time, so this guide focuses on how to read any jackpot’s rules there, what it costs you in RTP, and how a large win is checked and paid under UK rules.

Key takeaways

  • Jackpots come in three main forms: fixed prizes, progressive pots that grow with play, and must-drop pots with a deadline.
  • A share of every stake usually funds the jackpot, so a jackpot slot’s base-game RTP is often lower than a standard slot’s.
  • UK stake limits still apply to jackpot slots: £5 a spin at 25 and over, £2 at 18 to 24.
  • Gambling winnings, jackpots included, aren’t taxed for UK players, and a casino can’t insist on paying them in instalments.

How Casumo jackpots work

A jackpot is a top prize that sits above a slot’s normal paytable. At Casumo, as at any UK casino, jackpot games are supplied by game studios, and each one sets out in its help screen how the jackpot is funded, how it is triggered and what it is worth. Casumo’s UK site lists 6,000+ games in total; it doesn’t publish a list of jackpot titles in the material we checked, and that list changes as games come and go, so the lobby is where to see what is live today.

This page explains the mechanics that stay the same whichever jackpot you open. For Casumo’s licence, payments and support, see the Casumo casino hub; for a general introduction, read our jackpot slots guide and progressive jackpots explained.

Types of Casumo jackpot: fixed, progressive and must-drop

Jackpots fall into a few families. Knowing which kind you are playing tells you whether the prize can grow, who else is contributing to it and whether it has a deadline.

Jackpot types you may find in a UK casino lobby
TypeHow the prize is setWho contributesGlossary
Fixed jackpotA set multiple of your stake or a set amountNo pool; it is part of the paytableFixed jackpot
Standalone progressiveGrows with qualifying stakes on that one game at that casinoPlayers of that game at one siteProgressive jackpot
Network progressiveGrows with stakes across many casinos running the same gamePlayers at every linked casinoJackpot network
Must-drop jackpotMust be won before a set time or before it reaches a set amountUsually players across a networkMust-drop jackpot
Tiered jackpotsSeveral pots, often labelled mini to grand, each with its own triggerVaries by tierHold-and-win

Our glossary entries for the fixed jackpot, the jackpot network and the must-drop jackpot explain each in more detail. Tiered jackpots often sit inside hold-and-win bonus rounds, where collecting special symbols decides which pot is awarded.

How to read a Casumo jackpot game’s rules

Every jackpot slot at Casumo has a help or rules screen. Five minutes with it tells you more than any review, because it shows the exact version Casumo is running.

  1. Open the jackpot game from Casumo’s lobby while logged in.
  2. Tap the information or menu icon and open the rules or help section.
  3. Find the RTP line. Look for separate figures for the base game and for the jackpot contribution.
  4. Read how the jackpot is triggered: a symbol combination, a bonus wheel, a random award or a hold-and-win round.
  5. Check whether the jackpot is available at every stake or whether the chance of winning rises with stake.
  6. Look for any must-drop deadline or cap shown on the jackpot meter.

Our guide to reading casino game help screens shows where these details usually sit, and how to read a slot paytable explains the rest of the screen.

The real cost of Casumo jackpot slots: RTP and odds

Progressive jackpots are funded by a slice of each stake. That slice is counted in the game’s total RTP, but it is only paid back when someone hits the jackpot, which is rare. For everyone who doesn’t, the slot behaves as if its RTP were lower. Our RTP explained guide covers the idea.

Illustrative split of a jackpot slot’s RTP over £200 of stakes
Part of RTPExample shareReturned on £200 staked (long-run average)
Base game and features92%£184
Jackpot contribution4%£8, but only to the eventual winner
Total RTP96%£192
House edge4%£8 kept by the casino on average

These numbers are an illustration, not figures for a specific Casumo game; real splits are shown in each help screen. The practical point is that, without a jackpot hit, a player on this kind of slot loses about £16 per £200 on average rather than £8. Jackpot odds are long: many progressives are designed to be won rarely, which is how the pots get large. Our page on what happens when you hit a jackpot covers the other side.

Casumo jackpots and the UK stake limits

Jackpot slots are online slots, so the same stake limits apply as on any other: £5 per spin for players aged 25 and over since 9 April 2025, and £2 per spin for players aged 18 to 24 since 21 May 2025. The Commission’s online slots stake limit guidance (opens in a new tab) confirms the limits apply per game cycle.

Some jackpot games award the top prize more often at higher stakes, so the limits also cap the jackpot odds you can buy. That is deliberate: the rules were introduced partly to reduce the harm from fast, high-stake slot play. Our £5 slot stake limit and £2 slot stake limit pages explain the reasoning.

Total staked per hour on a jackpot slot at the UK maximums
Player ageMax stakeSpins per hour at 2.5 secondsMaximum possible stakes per hour
18 to 24£2Up to 1,440Up to £2,880
25 and over£5Up to 1,440Up to £7,200

The table shows the theoretical ceiling with no pauses between spins, which is why limits and budgets matter even with stake caps in place. Most sessions are far slower.

What happens if you win a jackpot at Casumo

A big jackpot win sets off the same process as any withdrawal, usually with closer checks. Under UK rules, winnings are yours to withdraw without unreasonable delay, and the Commission’s guidance on when you can’t withdraw your winnings (opens in a new tab) says you don’t have to accept payment in instalments.

  1. The win is credited to your balance; for network jackpots, the game supplier usually funds the prize.
  2. You request a withdrawal in the cashier. Under the reverse withdrawal ban, you can’t then cancel it and play it back.
  3. Casumo reviews the request. Its withdrawal policy (opens in a new tab) says requests are approved or denied within three days, and it may ask for documents before approving a large payout.
  4. Once approved, money goes to your method: Casumo lists PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, MuchBetter and Apple Pay as instant, cards up to 2 days and bank transfer up to 5 days.
  5. For very large sums, payment method limits may mean a bank transfer is used; check the cashier and ask support.

Being verified before you play saves time if you do win. Our Casumo verification page explains the documents, and Casumo withdrawal time breaks down every method.

Tax, rights and safety on Casumo jackpot wins

Gambling winnings are not taxed for UK players, however large. GOV.UK’s Income Tax overview (opens in a new tab) lists gambling-type wins such as the National Lottery as not taxable, and the same principle covers casino wins; the operator pays its own duties on profits. Our page on gambling winnings tax explains the detail.

  • A casino can’t confiscate winnings because you didn’t verify within a time limit.
  • It can’t demand ID at withdrawal that it could reasonably have asked for earlier, unless the law requires a check at that point.
  • If you disagree with a decision, complain to Casumo first, then to an independent adjudicator; see Casumo complaints.
  • Large wins attract attention from scammers; never share login details or one-time codes with anyone claiming to help you withdraw.

A large win can also change how you think about gambling. Setting a withdrawal plan and a deposit limit straight away protects the win. Our page on whether anyone has won a big jackpot online in the UK puts the odds in context.

Using the Casumo welcome bonus on jackpot games

Casumo’s welcome bonus is a 50% match up to £100 on a first deposit of at least £20, wagered 10 times within 7 days, with a £5 maximum bet while it is active. Game restrictions apply, and jackpot slots are among the games UK casinos most often exclude from bonus play. Check Casumo’s full terms before you take bonus funds to a jackpot game, including what happens to a jackpot won while a bonus is active.

Even where a jackpot slot is allowed, it is a poor fit for wagering: the lower base-game RTP means the bonus balance tends to run down faster. Our Casumo welcome bonus terms page covers each condition, and the Casumo slots guide explains how to choose games for bonus play.

Frequently asked questions

Does Casumo have jackpot slots?

Casumo’s UK site lists 6,000+ games, and large UK libraries usually include fixed, progressive and must-drop jackpot slots. Casumo doesn’t publish a list of jackpot titles in the material we checked, and the line-up changes as games are added and removed, so look for a jackpot category or search in the lobby. Each game’s help screen shows how its jackpot works. Our jackpot slots guide explains what to look for and how the main types differ.

What is a progressive jackpot at Casumo?

A progressive jackpot is a prize that grows as players stake on the game, because a small share of each qualifying bet is added to the pot. A standalone progressive grows from play at one casino; a network progressive is shared across many casinos running the same game, so it can grow larger. When someone wins, the pot resets to a starting amount. The game’s help screen shows how the contribution works. Our progressive jackpots explained guide has worked examples.

What is a must-drop jackpot?

A must-drop jackpot is a pot that has to be won before a set deadline, such as by the end of each day, or before it reaches a set amount. The meter usually shows the time or cap. It doesn’t change the odds on any one spin enough to make chasing it sensible, and the base-game RTP still applies. Playing longer or faster to catch a drop simply increases what you stake. Our must-drop jackpot glossary entry explains how these pots are usually designed.

Do I have to bet the maximum to win a Casumo jackpot?

It depends on the game. Some jackpots can be won at any stake; others increase your chance, or the share of the pot you win, as your stake rises. The help screen explains which applies. UK limits cap any slot stake at £5 per spin for players aged 25 and over and £2 for those aged 18 to 24, so no game can require more. Never raise stakes beyond your budget to chase a jackpot. Our £5 slot stake limit page explains the rule.

How is a Casumo jackpot win paid out?

A jackpot win goes into your balance, and you withdraw it through the cashier like any other winnings. Casumo’s withdrawal policy says requests are approved or denied within three days, and a large payout is likely to involve document checks first. After approval, e-wallets and Apple Pay are listed as instant, cards up to 2 days and bank transfer up to 5 days. You don’t have to accept payment in instalments. Our Casumo withdrawal problems page explains what to do if a payout stalls.

Do I pay tax on a Casumo jackpot?

No, gambling winnings aren’t taxed for UK players, so a jackpot from Casumo is yours in full. The tax system charges operators instead: remote gaming duty on casino profits rose from 21% to 40% on 1 April 2026, and that is paid by the operator, not you. If you later earn interest or returns by investing a win, those may be taxable in the normal way. Our do I need to pay tax on casino winnings? page has more detail.

Can I play Casumo jackpots with bonus money?

Check Casumo’s full bonus terms first, because its welcome offer says game restrictions apply and jackpot slots are commonly excluded from bonus play at UK casinos. Some casinos also treat a jackpot won with bonus funds differently. The welcome bonus itself is 50% up to £100 on a £20+ first deposit, wagered 10 times within 7 days, with a £5 maximum bet. Jackpot slots’ lower base RTP makes them a poor fit for wagering anyway. Our why some games are excluded from bonuses page explains why.

What are the odds of winning a jackpot?

Jackpot odds are long and vary by game, and most studios don’t publish an exact figure. Progressive pots grow large precisely because they are won rarely, often after millions of spins across a network. The jackpot contribution in the RTP is paid back only to the eventual winner, so most players experience a lower return than the headline RTP. Treat a jackpot as an unlikely extra, not a goal. Our understanding casino odds guide explains how to think about very small probabilities.

Can a casino refuse to pay a jackpot?

A UK-licensed casino must pay legitimate winnings and can’t confiscate them because you didn’t verify within a time limit. It can withhold payment where there is a genuine reason, such as a game malfunction, a clear breach of fair terms or a failed legal check, and it must explain why. If you disagree, use Casumo’s complaints process and then an independent adjudicator. Casumo’s licence is held by Recro Limited, account 61549. Our can casinos refuse to pay winnings? page sets out your rights.
