Jackpotjoy casino at a glance: who is behind it
Jackpotjoy is one of the longest-running names in UK online bingo and slots; its own site dates it to 2002. Today it is operated by Gamesys Operations Limited, a Gibraltar company whose register entry on the Gambling Commission site (opens in a new tab) shows account 38905. That number is the one to look for at the foot of the Jackpotjoy website.
This profile is part of our UK casino brands A–Z. We are not a Jackpotjoy affiliate, we don’t score the site, and the facts below come from the register and the operator’s published information as of October 2026.
Who owns Jackpotjoy: Gamesys, Intralot and Bally’s
Jackpotjoy’s ownership runs through several layers, and the top of the chain changed in October 2025. The table shows the structure as it stands.

For players, only one row really matters day to day: the licence holder. Gamesys Operations Limited is the company that holds your balance, runs verification and answers complaints, whatever happens to the shareholding above it. A change of parent doesn’t transfer your account to a new operator unless the licence holder itself changes, which the register would show. Our guide to casino sister sites explains how to follow these chains for any brand.

Gamesys runs a family of brands from the same licence. Some are its own; others are white labels, where another company owns the name and Gamesys runs the gambling. According to the register, the domains on account 38905 include:
Sharing a licence means sharing a compliance record, so the penalty described below applied across this whole family, not just Jackpotjoy. If the white label idea is new to you, our white label casino guide explains how it works.
What Jackpotjoy offers: bingo, Slingo, slots and sport

The Jackpotjoy operator’s £6.07m penalty: what happened
Gamesys Operations Limited received a penalty of £6,071,292. The decision is dated 22 November 2023, and the Commission published it in January 2024 under the headline £6m fine for online operator Gamesys (opens in a new tab). The Commission’s summary groups the failings under social responsibility and anti-money laundering, the two areas behind most large UK online penalties.
Because the penalty was against the licence holder, it covered the systems behind all the Gamesys brands, Jackpotjoy included. Penalties like this are usually paired with an agreement to fix the failings and, often, an external audit. Our Gambling Commission fines page explains how penalties differ from voluntary settlements and why a past action is context rather than a verdict on the site today.
Jackpotjoy in 2025 and 2026: what changed
Two kinds of change have reached Jackpotjoy recently. The first is corporate: the October 2025 move into Intralot S.A. The second is regulatory and applies to every British operator, so you will see it at Jackpotjoy and at our partners alike.
Since 9 April 2025, online slot stakes are capped at £5 a spin for players aged 25 and over; since 21 May 2025 the cap is £2 for those aged 18 to 24.
Since 31 October 2025, new customers are prompted to set a financial limit before their first deposit.
Since 19 January 2026, bonus wagering is capped at 10x, and promotions that mix products, such as a bingo deal that releases slot spins, are banned.
Since 1 April 2026, operators pay remote gaming duty at 40% of profits rather than 21%; players still pay no tax on winnings.
Scroll to the bottom of the Jackpotjoy page and note the Gambling Commission account number; it should be 38905.
Search the Commission’s public register by account number or by Gamesys Operations Limited.
Check that the remote casino and bingo licence activities are marked Active.
Open the domain names tab and make sure the address in your browser is listed and active.
Look at the regulatory actions tab, where the 2023 penalty decision should appear.
If the footer number or company name doesn’t match the register, don’t sign up.
Safer gambling options at Jackpotjoy
Gamesys must give Jackpotjoy players the standard UK set of controls: deposit limits, time-outs, reality checks and self-exclusion, plus participation in GAMSTOP. A deposit limit is the most useful starting point, and lowering one takes effect straight away. Our guide to deposit limit rules sets out how they work. To block all British-licensed sites at once, the GAMSTOP scheme (opens in a new tab) is free and runs for six months, one year or five years. For a conversation with someone, the National Gambling Helpline answers free on 0808 8020 133, day or night.
How Jackpotjoy compares as a type of UK site
Jackpotjoy is a bingo-first brand inside a large multi-brand operator, which places it between specialist bingo sites and big casino-and-sportsbook operators. That model brings shared bingo rooms and a large games catalogue, but also means one licence covers many sites. If you are choosing between product types, our bingo vs slots comparison explains how the pace and maths differ; the licence checks below matter regardless of a brand’s size.
Jackpotjoy casino alternatives with dated offers
None of our partners is a bingo-first brand like Jackpotjoy, so treat these as licensed alternatives rather than direct equivalents. We last checked their terms on 5 October 2026. 18+, terms apply.
At Coral Casino, a new player who deposits and bets £10 on slots gets 100 free spins worth 10p each, so £10 of spins in total; they must be accepted within 48 hours and used within 7 days, winnings carry no wagering, and deposits by PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Paysafe, prepaid or certain debit cards don’t count. PlayOJO gives 80 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza, worth £8 at 10p each, to new UK customers outside Northern Ireland on a first deposit of at least £10, with winnings paid in cash. Casumo adds 50% to a first deposit of £20 or more, up to £100, after you opt in: a £60 deposit brings £30 of bonus, which must be played through 10 times (£300) within 7 days at no more than £5 a bet.

Frequently asked questions
Who owns Jackpotjoy?
Jackpotjoy is run by Gamesys Operations Limited, and since October 2025 the Gamesys business has belonged to Intralot S.A., a listed company in which Bally’s Corporation holds 58%. The licence holder, Gamesys Operations Limited, is based in Gibraltar and holds UK Gambling Commission account 38905. For players, the licence holder is the important name, because it holds your funds and handles complaints. Our sister sites explainer shows how to trace ownership like this, and our Bally Casino profile covers a related brand.
Is Jackpotjoy licensed in the UK?
Yes. Jackpotjoy is operated under a UK Gambling Commission licence held by Gamesys Operations Limited, account 38905. The register lists remote licences for activities including casino and bingo, and you can check that the Jackpotjoy domain appears on the account. A UK licence means age and identity checks, safer gambling tools, GAMSTOP participation and the 2025–2026 stake and bonus rules all apply. Our step-by-step guide on how to check a casino licence shows the method, which takes about two minutes.
How long has Jackpotjoy been around?
Jackpotjoy’s own site says it has been online since 2002, which makes it one of the older UK bingo and slots brands still trading. Its ownership has changed since then, most recently in October 2025 when the Gamesys business became part of Intralot S.A. Age alone doesn’t make a site better or safer than a newer one; what matters is an active licence and fair terms. Our new vs established casinos comparison explains what an older brand does and doesn’t tell you.
Why was Jackpotjoy’s operator fined £6m?
Gamesys Operations Limited, which runs Jackpotjoy, received a £6,071,292 penalty for social responsibility and anti-money laundering failings. The decision is dated 22 November 2023 and was published by the Gambling Commission in January 2024. Because it was taken against the licence holder, it covered all brands on account 38905, including Bally Casino and Double Bubble Bingo. The Commission’s announcement sets out the specific failings. Our Gambling Commission fines page explains how such penalties are decided and published.
What are Jackpotjoy’s sister sites?
Jackpotjoy’s sister sites are the other brands run by Gamesys Operations Limited on licence 38905. They include Double Bubble Bingo and Bally Casino, plus white labels such as Virgin Games, Monopoly Casino and Rainbow Riches Casino, where another company owns the brand and Gamesys runs the gambling. Sister sites share an operator, so policies on verification and withdrawals tend to be similar, and regulatory action affects them all. See our Double Bubble Bingo and Monopoly Casino profiles.
Is Jackpotjoy a bingo site or a casino?
Both. Jackpotjoy offers 75-, 80- and 90-ball bingo alongside slots, Slingo, casino table games, live dealer games and sports betting, all from one account. Under UK rules each product keeps its own protections: slots carry the £5 and £2 stake caps, RNG table games have a five-second minimum game cycle, and since 19 January 2026 a single promotion can’t span more than one product. If you are deciding where to spend your budget, our bingo vs slots comparison sets out the differences in pace and return.
Did anything change for Jackpotjoy players when Intralot took over?
The change in October 2025 happened at group level; the licence holder, Gamesys Operations Limited, and its account number 38905 stayed the same. That means accounts, balances and complaints continued with the same licensed company. Any product or terms changes would be announced by Jackpotjoy itself, so check its terms page for the current version and the date it was updated. If a licence holder ever changes, the operator must tell customers and the register will show it. Our guide to rebranded casinos explains what to watch for.
Can I use a Jackpotjoy bonus on sports bets?
Not as part of a single cross-product deal. Since 19 January 2026 UK operators can’t run promotions that require play on one product to earn a reward on another, such as betting on football to unlock bingo tickets or slot spins. Each offer must apply to one product only, and any wagering is capped at 10 times the bonus. Check Jackpotjoy’s current terms for what is available, because we don’t track non-partner offers. Our page on the mixed-product promotions ban explains exactly what the rule prohibits.
How do I self-exclude from Jackpotjoy?
You can request self-exclusion through Jackpotjoy’s account settings or support team, which blocks your account for a chosen period. Because Gamesys runs several brands, ask whether the exclusion covers its sister sites as well. For a complete block on every British-licensed gambling website and app, register with GAMSTOP, which is free and lasts six months, one year or five years with no early cancellation. Our guide on how to self-exclude compares both routes and explains what happens to any remaining balance.
What can I do if Jackpotjoy won’t resolve my complaint?
Escalate to the operator’s approved alternative dispute resolution provider. Start with Jackpotjoy’s own complaints procedure and keep records. If the complaint isn’t resolved within eight weeks, or you disagree with the final response, the operator must refer you to its ADR provider, which is free. IBAS (opens in a new tab) is one approved provider used by many UK operators; check Jackpotjoy’s terms to see which one applies. Our how to complain about a casino guide covers each stage.
Gambling can be addictive. Free, confidential help is available 24 hours a day from the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133. Get free support from GamCare or NHS gambling support, or block yourself from all UK-licensed gambling sites with GAMSTOP.
