Push Gaming casino games

Push Gaming casino games are a compact, high-volatility catalogue from a studio founded in London in 2010: Jammin’ Jars, Razor Shark, Big Bamboo and the Fat series. Below we cover who owns Push Gaming now, the licence it holds in Great Britain, how its mechanics work, why most of its slots come in two RTP versions, and how to find them in a UK lobby.

Key takeaways

  • Push Gaming Holding Plc holds Gambling Commission account 54984, with software and casino game host licences active since 16 January 2020.
  • LeoVegas Group, part of MGM Resorts, announced a majority stake in May 2023.
  • Most Push titles exist in a standard version and one about two points lower (Big Bamboo: 96.13% or 94.13%), so check the help screen.
  • The games are high volatility with max wins up to 50,000x stake; UK stake caps of £5 (25+) and £2 (18–24) still apply.

Push Gaming casino games in brief

Push Gaming is a slot studio rather than a full casino platform. It was co-founded in London in 2010, with James Marshall among the founders, and now also operates from Ta’ Xbiex in Malta. Its output is small by the standards of the biggest suppliers, but a handful of its games, above all Jammin’ Jars and Razor Shark, have become fixtures in British slot lobbies.

The house style is easy to recognise once you know it: bright, cartoonish art on top of very swingy maths, with features that build during a spin rather than simple three-scatter bonus triggers. If you are new to how studios relate to the casinos that host their games, our explainer on software providers sets out the chain, and the providers hub lists every studio profiled on this site.

From London start-up to LeoVegas and MGM ownership

The biggest change in Push Gaming’s recent history was the majority stake announced by LeoVegas Group in May 2023. LeoVegas is itself owned by MGM Resorts, so Push Gaming now sits inside one of the largest US casino groups. In practice, the studio still supplies its games to many unrelated operators; ownership by a casino group does not mean its slots are exclusive to that group’s brands, such as LeoVegas or BetMGM UK.

Push Gaming’s Gambling Commission licence explained

To supply games to casinos serving Great Britain, a studio needs its own Commission licence. The register entry for account 54984 is in the name of Push Gaming Holding Plc, with a head office address in Ta’ Xbiex, Malta. It lists three active remote licences: gambling software and game host (casino), both since 16 January 2020, and gaming machine technical software since 9 May 2025.

The game host licence matters because many modern slots run on the supplier’s own servers, with the casino providing the account and wallet. The supplier is then directly responsible for the game’s fairness and its compliance with the Commission’s remote technical standards (opens in a new tab). To check any supplier, search its name on the Commission’s register of businesses (opens in a new tab); our licence-check walkthrough explains each field. Outside Britain, Push Gaming also lists licences in Malta (MGA/B2B/779/2020), Ontario and Romania.

Signature mechanics: jars, mystery stacks and growing wilds

Jammin’ Jars: moving multiplier wilds on a cluster grid

Jammin’ Jars plays on an 8×8 grid where five or more touching fruits pay (cluster pays). Jar symbols act as wilds that stay and move around the grid during free spins, and each time a jar is part of a win its multiplier grows. Several jars in one cluster combine their multipliers, which is where the game’s rare large results come from.

Razor Shark and Big Bamboo: mystery reveals

Razor Shark fills stacks of reels with mystery symbols that all turn into the same symbol, and can nudge them into view. Big Bamboo uses a similar idea on a taller 5×6 grid, with bamboo mystery symbols that can reveal regular symbols, cash values or collectors. Both are classic high-volatility designs: most spins reveal little, and the features that matter are rare.

The Fat series: wilds that grow

Fat Rabbit, Fat Santa and Fat Banker share a free spins mechanic where a large wild collects items and grows in size, covering more of the grid as the feature continues. An expanding wild like this turns a short bonus into a series of escalating spins, which is why the outcome of each feature varies so much.

Push Gaming slots worth knowing: published figures

Figures are from published game information for each title’s standard version. Where a lower RTP version is also published, it is shown in brackets.

Mount Magmas5×4, 20 paylines96.5%MediumSee help screen

Mount Magmas is the odd one out with medium volatility, so it is the obvious choice if the rest of the catalogue feels too swingy. Jammin’ Jars 2 has a rising RTP in its default version: the help screen explains how the figure changes with the feature.

Push Gaming’s twin RTP versions and what they cost you

Almost every Push title has two published settings, usually around two percentage points apart, and the casino chooses which to run. The game looks identical either way. The only reliable way to see which one you have is to open the paytable or help screen, as described in our RTP checking guide. The wider idea is covered under RTP range.

Big Bamboo over £300 of total stakes (theoretical averages)
VersionExpected returnExpected costCost per £100 staked
96.13%£288.39£11.61£3.87
94.13%£282.39£17.61£5.87

So the lower version costs about half as much again for the same amount of play. Those numbers are long-run averages; a single evening will finish far from them in either direction. If you are unsure what counts as reasonable, our answer to what a good RTP is puts typical figures in context.

Reading a 50,000x max win without the hype

Big Bamboo and Jammin’ Jars 2 both publish a top prize of 50,000 times the stake. At a 20p stake that is a £10,000 ceiling; at the UK maximum of £5 it would be £250,000. The headline is real, but it describes the extreme tail of the game’s maths, reached on a tiny fraction of spins, and the game is designed to return less than you stake on average.

A better way to judge a Push slot is to think about how a session feels. With high volatility, a budget of £20 at 20p a spin gives 100 spins, and it is common for a large part of that budget to go before a feature lands. Our guides to volatility and slot hit rates explain why, and the max win glossary entry covers how caps are applied.

Push Gaming casino games under British rules

Push Gaming adapts its games for Great Britain in the same way as every licensed studio. The online slots stake limit guidance (opens in a new tab) caps a spin at £5 for players aged 25 and over (from 9 April 2025) and £2 for 18 to 24-year-olds (from 21 May 2025).

  • Each spin takes at least 2.5 seconds, with no turbo or quick-stop, under the spin speed rule in force since 31 October 2021.
  • There is no autoplay; every spin is started by you.
  • The game must not celebrate a win that is equal to or smaller than the stake (see losses disguised as wins).
  • Your net position and time played stay visible, as set out in the net position display rule.
  • No feature buy: games supplied to Great Britain leave out the buy option seen in some other markets.

For players under 25, the £2 cap changes the maths of a 50,000x game: the theoretical ceiling becomes £100,000 rather than £250,000. It makes no difference to RTP or volatility.

How to find Push Gaming casino games at a UK casino

  1. Open the slots or casino lobby after logging in.
  2. Choose the provider or studio filter and select Push Gaming; if there isn’t one, search for a title such as Razor Shark.
  3. Open the game’s information panel and note which RTP version the casino runs.
  4. Check the volatility and max win in the same panel, so the game matches your budget.
  5. Confirm the stake selector stops at your age-band limit (£5, or £2 if you are 18 to 24).
  6. Set a deposit limit or a reality check before you play, using the account’s safer gambling menu.

Our casino lobby guide shows where those filters normally sit on desktop and mobile layouts.

Who Push Gaming slots suit, and who they don’t

Advantages

  • Distinct, feature-led designs that are easy to tell apart
  • Standard versions publish RTPs around 96.1% to 96.8%
  • Clear published volatility, so you know what to expect

Drawbacks

  • Most titles are high volatility, so budgets can run down quickly
  • Lower RTP versions about two points down are common
  • A small catalogue compared with the largest suppliers

If you prefer frequent small returns and long sessions on a modest budget, a low or medium-volatility game from another studio may suit better; our bankroll basics guide explains how to match games to budgets.

Where to play slots like Push Gaming’s with a current offer

We feature only our five UKGC-licensed partners, and their offers were last checked on 5 October 2026. None of them is a Push Gaming promotion, so treat them as general slot welcome offers rather than spins on Razor Shark or Big Bamboo.

Frequently asked questions

Who owns Push Gaming?

LeoVegas Group holds a majority stake, announced in May 2023, and LeoVegas is owned by MGM Resorts. Push Gaming was founded independently in London in 2010 and still runs as its own studio, with offices in London and Ta’ Xbiex, Malta. Ownership by a casino group doesn’t make its games exclusive: they continue to appear at many unrelated UK casinos. You can see LeoVegas’s own UK operation on our LeoVegas profile, and other studios’ owners on the providers hub.

Is Push Gaming licensed by the UK Gambling Commission?

Yes. The Commission’s register shows Push Gaming Holding Plc under account 54984 with active remote licences for gambling software and casino game hosting, both from 16 January 2020, plus gaming machine technical software from 9 May 2025. The address on the register is in Malta. Search the account number on the Commission’s public register to see the current status, and use our guide to checking a licence if you have not read a register entry before.

What are the best-known Push Gaming casino games?

Jammin’ Jars, Razor Shark and Big Bamboo are the studio’s best-known slots, followed by Jammin’ Jars 2 and the Fat series (Fat Rabbit, Fat Santa and Fat Banker). Jammin’ Jars is an 8×8 cluster-pays game with moving multiplier jars, Razor Shark relies on mystery stacks, and Big Bamboo uses mystery reveals on a taller grid. Almost all are high volatility. For how cluster grids differ from paylines, read our guide to cluster pays.

Why do Push Gaming slots have two RTPs?

Push publishes most games in two settings so operators can choose, typically about two percentage points apart. Big Bamboo, for example, runs at 96.13% or 94.13%, and Fat Banker at 96.43% or 94.45%. The visuals are identical, so the help screen is the only place to check. On £300 of stakes the lower Big Bamboo version costs around £6 more on average. Our RTP explainer explains what the percentage does and doesn’t tell you about a single session.

What is the max win on Push Gaming slots?

It varies by game, with published maximums of 50,000x the stake on Big Bamboo and Jammin’ Jars 2, 25,000x on Fat Banker, 20,000x on Jammin’ Jars and 10,000x on Retro Tapes. A max win is a ceiling, not a likely outcome: it sits in the extreme tail of the game’s maths. Under UK stake limits, a 50,000x result would be capped by the stake you can place, £5 or £2. Our max win explainer covers how these caps work.

Is Jammin’ Jars a good slot for beginners?

It is easy to follow but not gentle on a budget. The rules are simple: five or more touching fruits pay, and jars act as wilds with growing multipliers. The catch is high volatility, which means many spins return little and the significant results come from rare features. A beginner on a small budget may find a medium-volatility game less frustrating. Try the demo after age verification, and read our guide to how often slots pay out before deciding.

Can I buy free spins in Push Gaming slots in the UK?

No. Versions supplied to Great Britain don’t include a bonus buy, so you can only reach free spins by triggering them in normal play. This reflects how studios supply games to British operators rather than a specific dated rule. If a site that claims to serve UK players offers a buy option on a Push game, that is a sign it may not be licensed for Great Britain. Our page on no bonus buy in the UK explains the background.

How much can I stake on Push Gaming slots?

Up to £5 per spin if you are 25 or over, and up to £2 if you are aged 18 to 24. The limits started on 9 April 2025 and 21 May 2025 respectively and apply to every online slot at a UK-licensed casino. Casinos set your limit from the date of birth on your verified account. The whole game cycle, including any free spins triggered, counts as one spin. See our page on the £2 stake limit for under-25s for worked examples.

Are Push Gaming slots fair?

Games supplied to Great Britain must meet the Commission’s technical standards, which require random outcomes and accurate published information such as RTP. Push Gaming holds both software and game host licences, so it is directly accountable for the games it runs. Fair doesn’t mean favourable: every slot is built to return less than it takes over time. If you want to know how independent checks work, our guide to how casino games are tested explains the role of testing labs.
