Adventures Beyond Wonderland is Playtech’s live money wheel game show, themed on Alice in Wonderland: you bet on number segments paying 1:1 to 10:1 or on bonus rounds such as WonderSpins and Magic Dice, and a host spins a large wheel in an augmented-reality studio. Published RTPs sit between about 96.1% and 96.8% depending on the bet.
The original wheel has 54 segments: numbers 1, 2, 5 and 10, two WonderSpins bonuses, Magic Dice and two non-bettable Mystery segments.
Number bets pay 1:1 to 10:1, but much of their return comes from Mystery multipliers, not the base payout.
A 2024 update added a WalterSpins bonus, so check the in-game help for the current wheel and RTPs.
Slot stake caps don’t apply to live game shows; the table limits and your own budget do.

What Adventures Beyond Wonderland is
Adventures Beyond Wonderland is a live casino game show from Playtech, the studio group founded in Estonia in 1999 and now headquartered on the Isle of Man. It is a money wheel game, the same broad family as Dream Catcher and Mega Wheel, dressed in an Alice in Wonderland theme and based on Playtech’s slot of the same name.
Playtech (opens in a new tab) describes it on its live casino pages as a hosted augmented-reality game, with costumed presenters interacting with the White Rabbit and Walter the Caterpillar in a revolving studio. Third-party game listings date its launch to 2020. In 2024 Playtech added a further bonus round, WalterSpins, so older guides that describe only three bonus games are out of date.
If you are new to the genre, our overview of live game shows explains how they differ from table games: there are no decisions after you bet, and the house edge is built into how often each segment appears and what it pays.
How to play Adventures Beyond Wonderland step by step
Open the game from a UK-licensed casino’s live lobby and check the table limits shown on screen.
During the betting window, place chips on any of the number segments (1, 2, 5, 10) and on any bonus segments you want to cover.
Before the spin, a Mystery feature may add random multipliers to some positions.
The host spins the wheel. Where the pointer stops decides the result for that round.
If it lands on a number you backed, you are paid at that number’s odds, plus any multiplier attached.
If it lands on a bonus segment you backed, you play that bonus round; if you didn’t back it, you watch and your number bets lose.
A Mystery segment triggers a random multiplier feature for the next result.
Worked example: you put £1 on 2 and £1 on Magic Dice, a £2 round. The wheel lands on 2, which pays 2:1, so you receive £2 in winnings plus your £1 stake back, and lose the £1 on Magic Dice. Net result: £1 up. Had the wheel landed on 1, you would have lost both bets.
Adventures Beyond Wonderland wheel segments and odds
The original 54-segment layout, as published in detailed third-party breakdowns, looks like this. The 2024 WalterSpins update may have changed the mix, so the help screen is the final reference.
There is a useful lesson hidden in the first row. A bet on 1 wins on 40.7% of spins and returns double the stake, which on its own gives back only about 81.5% of what you bet. The listed return of 96.82% is reached only because Mystery multipliers sometimes boost the payout. In other words, a large part of each number bet’s value arrives in occasional multiplied wins rather than steady base payouts. Our RTP guide explains why a long-run figure can hide that kind of pattern.
Bonus games in Adventures Beyond Wonderland
WonderSpins
Triggered by the 2 WonderSpins and 5 WonderSpins segments, this round moves to a special bonus wheel lined with Wonderland characters, each carrying a base multiplier. An inner wheel can add extra multipliers or spins. The 5 WonderSpins segment appears less often but gives more spins. Third-party breakdowns list an outer-wheel top value of 50x before any boosts.
Magic Dice
You pick a red or white die, and each roll moves you up a 6x4 grid of multipliers and special symbols. The higher you climb, the bigger the prize; the grid tops out at 100x. It feels interactive because you make the choice of die, but either choice has the same expected value.
Mystery features
Mystery segments aren’t bet on directly. When one lands, a feature runs before the next result: either the Caterpillar Mystery Multiplier, which places random multipliers on betting positions, or the Card Soldiers Mystery Multiplier, where a card is chosen to reveal a multiplier prize.
WalterSpins
Added in 2024, WalterSpins gives two spins on the bonus wheel. First, Walter the Caterpillar blows bubbles containing hidden multipliers, which then apply to all characters on the wheel. It sits at the rare, high-variance end of the game, and its bets carry a slightly lower listed return than the number segments.
RTP and house edge in Adventures Beyond Wonderland
Published breakdowns put the return to player for Adventures Beyond Wonderland between about 96.1% and 96.82%, depending on the bet. The best-paying bet in long-run terms is the 1 segment, at about 96.82%, which is a house edge of about 3.2%. Bonus bets, including WalterSpins, are a little lower.

The differences between bets are small next to the swings you will see in a session. What changes much more is volatility: a bet on 1 wins often for small amounts, while bonus bets lose most spins and occasionally pay a multiple of the stake. Our volatility guide covers how to match that to your budget. Playtech can update RTPs and layouts, so check the help screen of the table you join.
Adventures Beyond Wonderland vs other money wheels
If you like this format, compare it with the other wheels you will see in UK lobbies. Each has its own segment counts and bonus rounds, which our pages on Crazy Time, Monopoly Live and Spin a Win cover in detail. The broad pattern holds across all of them: number segments give frequent smaller wins, bonus segments give rare larger ones, and the house edge typically sits between about 3% and 5%.
Advantages
Very easy to follow, with no decisions after betting
Wide choice of risk levels, from the 1 segment to bonus bets
Interactive bonus rounds such as Magic Dice
Drawbacks
House edge of about 3.2% or more, higher than the main bets in blackjack or baccarat
Much of the number bets’ value depends on occasional Mystery multipliers
The layout changed in 2024, so older guides may be wrong
UK rules for live game shows like Adventures Beyond Wonderland
Live game shows count as online casino games under Gambling Commission rules. Since 17 January 2025, the Commission’s remote technical standards (opens in a new tab) have banned autoplay for all online casino games, required a visible net position and session clock, and set a minimum of 5 seconds per game cycle for non-slot games. A live wheel round takes longer than that anyway, but the autoplay ban means you place every bet yourself.
The £5 and £2 per spin stake limits are for online slots only; Adventures Beyond Wonderland uses the table limits.
Age and identity checks are required before you can play, and credit cards can’t be used to gamble.
Since 31 October 2025 you must be prompted to set a financial limit before your first deposit.
Myths and betting systems on the Wonderland wheel
“The wheel is due a bonus.” Each spin is independent; a long run without WonderSpins doesn’t make one more likely. That’s the gambler’s fallacy.
“Covering every segment turns a profit.” You will win something on most spins, but you pay for every segment and still receive less than you stake on average. No combination of bets removes the edge.
“Read the stats panel to find hot numbers.” The panel shows history, not prediction.
“Double up after losing on 10.” Progressions change when you win or lose, not the average cost. See our betting systems guide.
Bankroll maths for Adventures Beyond Wonderland
Suppose you stake £2 a round, split evenly between 1 and 2, for 40 rounds. That is £80 staked; at listed returns of about 96.7% to 96.8%, the expected cost is around £2.60. With most of the money on low numbers, your balance will move slowly, though a run of 5s, 10s and bonus segments can still take £20 or more.
Put the same £2 on bonus segments only and the expected cost barely changes, but the path is very different: long losing runs, then occasional larger wins. If you choose that style, set your session budget first and use your casino’s deposit limit tools to stick to it. Our guide to setting a gambling budget has a simple method.

Frequently asked questions
How does Adventures Beyond Wonderland work?
You bet on where a large wheel will stop. Number segments 1, 2, 5 and 10 pay at those odds, and bonus segments lead to rounds such as WonderSpins or Magic Dice. Mystery segments trigger random multipliers. A host spins the wheel in an augmented-reality studio, and there are no decisions to make once betting closes. Our live game shows page explains how money wheels differ from other live games.
Who makes Adventures Beyond Wonderland?
Playtech makes it. Playtech was founded in 1999 in Tartu, Estonia, is headquartered in Douglas on the Isle of Man and is listed on the London Stock Exchange. The game is based on Playtech’s slot of the same name and features the White Rabbit and Walter the Caterpillar. Our Playtech provider page covers the company’s other live and slot games.
What is the RTP of Adventures Beyond Wonderland?
Published breakdowns list returns between about 96.1% and 96.82%, depending on the bet. The 1 segment has the highest listed RTP, at about 96.82%, and some bonus bets sit lower. That means a house edge of roughly 3.2% to 3.9%. Playtech can change these figures, so check the help screen. Our RTP guide explains what the percentages mean over time.
How many segments are on the Adventures Beyond Wonderland wheel?
The original layout has 54 segments: 22 for 1, 15 for 2, five for 5, four for 10, three for 2 WonderSpins, one for 5 WonderSpins, two for Magic Dice and two Mystery segments. The 2024 update that added WalterSpins may have changed the mix, so check the in-game help before relying on these counts. Our money wheel comparison shows how other wheels are laid out.
What is the best bet on Adventures Beyond Wonderland?
On listed figures, the 1 segment has the highest return, at about 96.82%, but the differences between bets are small. The bigger difference is volatility: low numbers win often for small amounts, while bonus bets lose most spins and pay more occasionally. No bet removes the house edge. Our best odds casino games guide shows how game shows compare with table games.
What is Magic Dice in Adventures Beyond Wonderland?
Magic Dice is a bonus round where you choose a red or white die and each roll moves you up a 6x4 grid of multipliers and special symbols. The higher you climb, the bigger the prize, with the grid topping out at 100x. Choosing a die feels like a decision, but both have the same expected value. Our bonus wheel glossary entry explains similar features.
What are WalterSpins?
WalterSpins is a bonus round Playtech added in a 2024 update. It gives two spins on the bonus wheel, after Walter the Caterpillar blows bubbles that hide multipliers applied to every character on the wheel. It sits at the rare, high-variance end of the game. Because it changed the wheel, older guides may show outdated layouts. Our new live game shows page covers how to check updated releases.
Is Adventures Beyond Wonderland rigged?
At a UK-licensed casino, the game must meet the Gambling Commission’s technical standards, and the wheel is spun live on camera. That doesn’t mean you will come out ahead: the house edge of roughly 3% to 4% is built into the segment counts and payouts. Check the casino’s licence on the Commission register, and see our answer to are live dealers real.
Do stake limits apply to Adventures Beyond Wonderland?
No. The £5 per spin limit for players aged 25 and over and the £2 limit for those aged 18 to 24 apply only to online slots. Live game shows use the table limits set by the casino. That makes your own limits more important, and since 31 October 2025 UK casinos must prompt you to set one before your first deposit. Our deposit limit rules page has the details.
Can I use a casino bonus on Adventures Beyond Wonderland?
Sometimes, but live game shows often contribute little or nothing towards wagering, and some offers exclude them. Since 19 January 2026, wagering in Great Britain has been capped at 10x, but a game that counts at 10% would still need ten times the play. Check the eligible games and maximum bet rule in the terms. Our live casino bonus guide explains what to look for.
